I guess it’s just the fact that they don’t consider opposing views could be valid for even a moment in those episodes, that problem is probably in more episode but i only noticed it with the daring do ones.

Don’t worry about the text wall, though I gotta ask one thing: could you elaborate on the “condescending attitude” of the Daring Do episodes? I can understand everything else but I have absolutely no idea what you mean with that.

Season 3 was her best season imo, but i feel they had to reset her development somewhat after that because the show didn’t end and now she’s on a very slow and very Cringey character arc about humility and responsibility.

in season 6 most of her appearances end with her being berated(the cart before the ponies,Newbie Dash the beginning of to where and back) since she’s been on teams before and runs the weather patrol I think she should have already known the lesson of “Newbie Dash” and the only difference i see between 28 Pranks and MMDW is that her friends were more in the right about her obnoxious behaviour, but the problem is 2-fold:First she should be past being that annoying and destructive and second as per cartoon logic they only try talking to her once and not very thoroughly, i’d be fine with all that if it was eariler in the show but the overall immaturity and lack of intellect feels worse after S3 showed she had some responsibility and wisdom.

Also even though i enjoyed The Saddle Row Review, it showed that Rainbow Dash is really stupid(she is a high school dropout so i shouldn’t be surprised),people made a big fuss over pinkie’s intelligence a few years ago but Dash only seems to have gotten dumber as the show progresses.(there’s even more evidence of her stupidity in the wonderbolt academy handbook scans here on the booru)

As for the Daring Do stuff while i don’t really hate any of it, i don’t like it either. “Read it and weep” felt odd because i’ve never seen anyone give a crap about reading books before. “Daring Don’t was okay but Rainbow was a creepy neckbeard fanboy and i was indifferent to stranger than fan fiction, but what i really don’t like is the condescending attitude that pervades those episodes. I do love DBkitz’s interpretation of DD’s backstory.

Sorry about the text wall, you did ask me to explain my gripes with several things.

Well, I think she generally had the attitude that studying and smarts are for losers. At least that’s the impression she’s been leaving on me initially. I gotta say, her worst had to be “fall weather friends”, and maybe MMDW, I don’t think she’s gotten as bad since. What was so bad in season 6? The zombie episode? I’ve found her somewhat entertaining and pretty bearable from season three onward. And I do actually like everything with Daring Do..

Anti-Intellectual? she’s been vaguly anti-feminine before and thought “reading was for eggheads”(I really don’t like anything involving Daring Do) but i don’t recall her being anti-intellectual outside of that, she is a high school dropout so i could see why she would have a grudge against such things.

As for all those other character flaws I think she showed signs of moving past them in season 3 but she’s gotten far worse in season 6 in my opinion.

I can understand not liking her if you met someone like that IRL.

Too much ego, too insecure, tries too hard to hide it beyond a stupid facade of “coolness”, generally obsesses way too much over her reputation, too competitive (early in the show - to the point of blatant cheating), often shows blatant disregard for reason or disdain for any sort of intellectual activity. I’m probably forgetting something, too.

She’s mellowed out by now (especially the anti-intellectual side of her) but I used to hate her guts for the first two or so seasons. Still, out of all the stereotypes the mane6 encompass, I find hers to be the worst one in terms of being an entertaining character, a good role model, or, if she were real, a pleasant person to be friends with. Purely in my opinion, of course.

Same… Don’t really wanna have anything to do with RD and her personality type. Thankfully astrology is bs and these descriptors don’t apply to me.
