Eh, Brony can refer to people from both genders. Actually come to think of it, I rarely hear “Pegasister” used much at all these days.
No idea what parts of the fandom you frequent, but in the places I tend to hang out it’s generally still like that. (Well, not the “new and cool” parts obviously, but laughter, welcomeness, tolerance? Definitely still there.)
