Now you look like the eldar from warhammer 40k, so kinda badass while kinda silly at the same time, but still cool (at least that’s my opinion)

Feels like the entire trailer is essentially just, ‘Pharnyx has a temper tantrum’. They could have done better, honestly.
 
That said I’m excited. First brother to brother relationship we’ve seen that involves a main supporting character. All we’ve had till now is Thunderlane and Rumble and the Flim Flam brothers. I wonder if Thorax is younger or older.

It’s most likely just to differentiate Pharnyx from all other non-reformed drones. Really wouldn’t get your hopes up for a new hive or new sub species of changeling or anything.

Actually, it’s pretty obvious. The changelings under Chrysalis were always starving. They never could have enough. They literally had bottomless holes for stomachs and their method of eating drained the life forces of others. Given their design with holes and thin frames, they were meant to be sort of a corrupted sort of look to them. It’s reflective of their nature, as Mr. Horrible put it.
 
The ‘colorful’ changelings draw from the mythological sense of Fae (as changelings sort of were in mythology) and insects. As well, it plays into how they are whole now and vibrantly free of this eternal hunger because they were willing to change.

I think it’s more of a subconscious thing. Since a changeling can change its physical form at any time and for an indefinite period, their “base” form is probably reflective of their nature. A “good” changeling has brighter colors, a more complete body, and a friendly, approachable look. Changelings with an evil, predatory nature are darker, full of holes and decay, and appear more threatening.

The difference is they never claimed that stuff is good. But this type of thing is portrayed as good and the only way for changelings to become good.

I don’t understand what the writers are doing with the changelings. So, changeling their colors is the only way to fit in? And having a different form means you are intrinsically more or less violent? That sounds, uh, kind of a bad message to send to kids.
