Yeah. IDW ended up making the banishment of the Sirens wrong. Rainbow Rocks, Legends of Magic Issue #12, and zshadow Play - Part 2 shows Starswirl banishing them to the human world by created a portal in the sky. While FIENDship Is Magic Issue #3 shows Starswirl banishing them to the human world by a Crystal Mirror. Who cares? They’re too big to fit through the Crystal Mirror. FIENDship Is Magic Issue #3 isn’t canon to the cartoon and the Equestria Girls spin-off.

If this is canon, that means they had their name “The Dazzlings”, even when they were in Equestria.
 
I always thought they made up a name for themselves in Equestria Girls.
