I disagree, their is a bigger niche for feral than anthro, it’s just that no one really tries it as much. The fantasy is more real when they are in their normal state.

You know, your mental health and happiness is much more important in a long-term perspective.  
I’m sure that not everyone will start calling you an asshole. And even if some people will, you have stated it yourself that feral is not worth it. Your opinion is much more important, you will find new fans anyway.

It’s not for you to decide what your art is worth, that’s the market’s job. Whatever price people will pay, that is what it’s worth. You’re severely undercutting yourself and also underestimating who your audience is and what their financial means are. No, we are not all college kids.

“ commissions don’t help I don’t work fast.” I have a commission list from the last year and a half im still working off (started 2 years ago at 30 coms. worked down to 5. then jumped back to upper 20 to help someone important to me) each animation fully done takes at LEAST a month in most cases. the ones were my interest is gone, take longer due to working on them being like pulling teeth. the last animation (aj rarity fucking) was one of them. a feral animation with sound and a cumshot. (its not released as im writing this. will be later)
 
lets look at it this way. the animation i just finished took me over a month and a half to finish. the animaiton of maud and marble took 2-3 weeks working every other day. maud marble was longer. had more in it. more camera angles. more interest on my part and it had a far easier time with the models. feral horses are not easy to pose. there rigs are not made for sex they dont bend into sexual angles well. they glitch out alot for some rigs (if you bend them just a bit to far) and all around ferals just fucking suck to work with.
 
but the loudest talker who like feral will swear up and down the curb that i should be doing more feral cause its what people want and will pay for. oh yes. feral people will pay for some commissions in the higher tiers. but were i to adjust for the cost of doing ferals with the stress it brings. it would triple the base price. and theyd look at me like im some kind of greedy asshole who hates feral lovers.
 
(just so were clear. I start at 60 and will go up for longer animations and work from there on the priceing. ever addition is 20 dolllars) to put that in perspective. want sound? 20 bucks. want a cumshot? 20 bucks. want an internal shot? 20 bucks. want there to be an insertion? 20 bucks. (if the fucking is already started it gets rid of the starting head ache but people want that hot bit of beginning foreplay that takes 2 sessions to start and clean up) want multiple camera angles 20 bucks more depending on the number of angles. want a cumshot were they pull out and don’t finish inside? to fucking bad. not happening.
 
so already assuming the base price was higher lets say 80 or even 100 if its a really complex animation. you have that 60-100 + all the bells and wistles. (I allow for some leeway so maybe drop one of the 20’s lets say its another 60 bucks
 
already were at 120-160 … triple that. were at 360 or 480. and thats not even reasonable of anyone who follows me. were all college kids. id never ask that of someone. wich leads me to the choice ive made. I’m not going to keep putting up with feral for commissions. its just. not. worth it. my arts not even that good of quality to demand such a fee of anyone.
 
The only way you will see me doing feral art (wich is still likely mind you) is in a handful of cercumstances. the most likely is patreon or a project that is foalcon (cause I should not need to explain why im not doing anthro foalcon or streaming it in any case… anyone reading this is free to put there pitchforks away. in the case of patreon. if someone wins the animation award (done once i finish the previous reward. always on going but delayed by bullshit for a long time now >~<) or its voted on the patreon monthly vote. the animation of wich im animating in the current stream set. Or an off chance were I allow such a thing but never a full animation.(like above is just a cumshot and some looping. its not sounded its not starting insertion or whatever. this was a commission from october of 2016. this should give you an idea of how baddly my last 2 years have been fucked up. … uhg….
 
I started making art to be populer. it wasent about money. now that i made it a job. … its been a very long time since any of this has been fun. Soon. once this com list is gone. Maybe ill be able to make what i want to again.
 
TL:DR  
Commissions don’t help me at this stage. My quality can’t demand higher prices (in my opinion) and a month per project means i have to make up that other end of the money some how. Thats all there is to it. I don’t even make min wage with the cost of working on all this stuff time wise. patreon covers my expenses and theres more anthro then feral lovers. its just wider appeal. Maybe some day things will change but for now. this is how things are going.
 
Sorry for the wall of text. this has been something ive dealt with for over 2 years and people look at me and make face value judgements about what im doing. but ive got alot on my mind :c (like the 10 or so people who have given me money and waited patiently for months to even hear there contents on the list of things to be done soon) … it used to be over 30 at one point.

Damn i understand that you need to consider what’s better in the masses and would bring you forward..but looking at the comments, wouldn’t it mean when doing feral that it would give you more attention and possibly Commissions, input that would help you out?

You know. I hear that statement so often now. and yet. I look at other populer artists. and they don’t do anything but human and anthros. and there doing so well for themselves. and Im told day in and out “ermagerd feral yass yaaaaaaaaaaaaaassss queeen” and im here like…. I cant afford food dude. I love that you love my stuff. but i have my future to worry about and I cant live off what I am currently. commissions don’t help i don’t work fast.
