Yeah, true. Remember “Windwaker?” Hated before it was even released, now considered a classic Zelda game.  
A relative of mine even likes it better then “Ocarina.” (Personally, it’s difficult for me to play favorites with Zelda.)

It’s inevitable, there’s G1 fans, and 2000s G3 fans whom consider G4 “terrible” for whatever reason.

They’re apparently working on it, (concept art even is online) and seeing as G4 is ending, they’ll have to reboot the franchise for the next decade, so G5 is inevitable.

One more thing to mention nothing about G5 has actually been confirmed in fact I don’t even think G5 itself has been confirmed.

I guess I never reason is that hasbro might think that G5 not be as popular with different characters (I’m not saying that’s how it would be) it was the same mindset that kept power rangers mighty morphin for three seasons only going to zeo ratings were going down

Copyrights are good for 70 years, (depending on the copyright laws of the country) and renewal can be done, as well. That’s why Disney still owns Mickey Mouse, and why Paramount still owns the 3 Stooges after 70 years.  
Apparently, Faust wanted to use the names of more G1 ponies, but Hasbro had some legal issues with some of the names apparently, (like “Fire Fly” is also the name of a TV show) so Applejack was the only G1 pony she could use.
 
I always found that funny, because the name sounds more like fast athletic pony, but I guess the term “a dash of this or that,” can apply to fashion, and making things too.

That might be a copyright thing. I think if you don’t use characters for a certain amount of time you can lose the right.  
One more thing worth mentioning is that original rainbow dash was an earth pony and was more comparable to rarity

Yeah, how could it be one? Lord Tirek is much different from G1 1980s Tirek, in both design, and backstory. Not to mention, G4 Applejack is different from G1, and also the newer incarnations of Sweetie Belle, Scootaloo, and Toola Roola are much younger then their previous counterparts. There’s NO way G4 could be a continuation.
 
Yeah, I’m curious how different the characters would be in G5. Though, sense MLP traditionally has different main characters each generation, I’m kinda surprised they’re redoing the G4 cast, instead of making new ones, or rebooting a few older ones.

Actually to be honest if they just had the same mane 6 and as the same races I think people would just question why they rebooted in the first place

Hopefully that isn’t the case. although there’s the fact that leak was from a while ago and was merely concept art for something that probably wasn’t even made into a coherent idea yet, so there’s hope

I’ve never seen proof of that, plus G5 looks like a reboot, not a continuation.
 
Heck, Twilight Sparkle is now an earth pony, which has sparked some controversy ironically.

And yeah, there’s hardly any episodes that focus on them without any of the Mane 6, or anything.

The student one really bothers me I thought it was stupid when people said it was starlight but the students only had six episodes in season 2 and has only if you count the premiere and finale and so far in season 9 only. And even then they were sharing them with the mane 6

I actually tried to use that as a point/counterargument against the people saying that.  
Those people somehow disapeared once the show became the “Starlight Glimmer Show,” or “Student Six Show,” and such… People always find another character/s to hate on.
 
Heck, as I said, in the Season 1 days, some said the CMC were somehow “ruining the show.” Nowadays, everyone loves them.

I just remembered something interesting about what you said in that comment.  
I remember people saying that twilight was taking over the show and it was becoming the Twilight sparkle show. I think the closest to show got to being that was season 1 because she was in every episode regardless of if it makes sense or not just so she could have given the moral of the episode

She was involved in most Season 1 episodes regardless, and some Season 2 ones. In fact, she said she was heavily involved in “Luna Eclipsed,” which made it ironic some tried to use that particular episode as “proof of how bad the show got without her.”

Well I never said anything about actually completely changing his design I guess a bit of a between between his design and smolder.  
One thing about faust mentioning in terms of actual waiting she only wrote three episodes and I don’t think they’re the highlight of the season but that’s just me.

Yeah, Faust made the show great, but as I pointed out before some of her original concepts weren’t perfect, like Applejack headbutting trees for example, (imagine all the cringy head-trauma jokes fans would make) the original Mane 6 color schemes weren’t as varried as they now are, and Applebloom was going to be alone.
 
So in some cases some changes by execs weren’t all bad.
