They would run out of able time, its not only [harder for older woman to get pregnant when they age](https://www.yourfertility.org.au/everyone/age) theres also the menopause factor. I wouldnt count with pregnancy nearing the 40.

think longer term than that. if older women have children, then women who live longer will have more children on average. this puts a selection pressure on women to live longer, and that’s likely to make women and men live longer. unless you’re an anglerfish.

I think you got your biology mixed up, older woman’s children are actually more likely to be defective. You will find all the literature pointing in this direction.
 
Also there is no way to tell if the woman has “”“longevity genes””” just because she hit her 30’s, as 30 is really expected from all but the sickest of pones.

I prefer going for instinct because I am in love with someone younger than I and because I live happier following my instinct and I have no need to break any law to do so.
 
I follow my nature and enjoy it. Of course I got nothing against going for someone fertile, but women older than I… Are no longer fertile.

personally I love people going against instinct b/c having kids with older women makes our species evolve to live longer. t’ain’t easy though.

In all seriousness, there is also a tremendous power shift if you compare man and woman at that age as one is nearing his peak while the other is back at the base only to go downhill.

The difference is instinct. Women tend to be attracted to men who can support and protect them and their children, ie men who are stable and have their lives figured out. These men tend to be older. Men tend to be attracted to women who can produce healthy children, ie women who are healthy themselves. These women tend to be younger. It’s just natural, nothing to be upset about.

Nice observation, also recall that in the Mane Attraction Applejack wrote to Rara and told her about Applebloom after the events of Friendship Camp. Since the two were friends for just a short while Applejack couldn’t have been much older when she wrote to Rara (and Applejack just barely got her cutie mark in the Friendship Camp timeline).
 
Add that in the cutiemark flashback ep. Applejack said she was younger than the CMC when she got her cutiemark; none of this is said for the other mane 6; so Applejack could be on the younger end of the group.
