It’s super frustrating when it happens. Someone actually has pulled that same thing here a couple times too, literally just gone up to the pole where all the lines are, cracked it open, and just snipped all the wires inside >:I

Me, who’s currently without internet since 6 and a half years because someone cutted the cables in my neighbourhood for the third time and the company doesn’t want to put them back again:

(I actually had issues since 10:00 P.M to write this message, it’s 11:30 P.M now…)

Still, I’m really sorry for what you went through, I hope you get some better internet service provider, or atleast this kind of situations don’t happen again.

That sort of thing was all most early viruses did. They were essentially self-propagating pranks.
 
Nowadays anyone who knows where to look can get point-n-click custom virus writer software on the Internet requiring little if any understanding or skill to create something nasty–malware with a nasty surprise payload, usually, that connects to the Internet and installs remote access software on the victim’s computer.
 
Once upon a time “hackers” were curious teenagers. These days the Russian Mafia and the Triads produce this stuff, and use it to steal secrets and money. It’s a business now.

At first I thought this was a Mean Six version of Elkie, and now I want one to exist in the worst way…
 
I bet she and Elkie have a lot of fun pranking users together.

If I was capable it’s what I’d do: program highly infectious but entirely harmless viruses. Like, one that got into your computer, played the theme from Ghostbusters at 3AM, then e-mailed itself to all your contacts and deleted itself XD

I had phone internet but I don’t have a whole lot of data so I only used it to like check the weather. For those outside of the USA, you practically need to take out a second mortgage to get a decent mobile data plan :/

It was (presumably) the first instance of malware in existence. All it did was get into a computer, display the message “I’m the Creeper, catch me if you can”, then moved on XD
