I’d equineate Princess Celestia with ancient Egypt’s Amun-Ra/Akhenaten’s the ‘Aten’. And of course, Princess Luna = Diana/Artemis of ancient Rome & Greece respectively.
…but a thought: as Sakura Kinomoto changed the Clow Cards into Sakura Cards, via her changing the Key Staff into the Star Staff, thus her own unique power evolving from that of Clow Reed’s magic, now Twilight Sparkle is an Alicorn Princess - and as ’Tia comtrols the Sun, and Lulu controls the Moon - does Twi control the stars…?!

How can it boggle the mind? It’s really simple. He he’s a warrior of the sun, and he’s on a quest to “find his own sun”.
So any character that represents the sun is an instant match for him.
