I feel like I rushed to name one of mine. I love her, but kinda I feel like her name is clunky. And now I’m too stubborn to even attempt to change it, lol.  
Cutie E. sounds like a great name for your genderswapped OC! I think I flew by a few comments on previous pages about that. ;w;

I can never seem to come up with anything good and original.
 
My main OC is named Al, short for Alexandra, and half the people think her name is “Ai,” while the other half think that she’s a dude (even when looking at pictures of her where she is clearly female).

Aww. I can relate. Naming OCs can be a bit hard sometimes.

Try abbreviating her name to Alyx with a y. This is usually interpreted as female. Sometimes Alex with an e is understood as female too, but the y is definite.

Since I’m going to be working on Reverie Equestria again, I’m looking back on this picture of Sekhmet I did some 6 months ago.

… I feel pretty guilty for not doing more pony art. If I’d stuck to clean and really worked to improve it, I might’ve been able to take it somewhere and the rest of my art with it.
 
Hell, maybe now’s a good time. No more show and a lot of people hate the comics. Folks’ll flock to pony stuff like seagulls.
 
Just need to get some rest and come at it with more energy. If I can make the other characters look as good as Sekhmet (or better) then I think it can work.

Popping back into here to say that I adore these characters’ designs!! Especially Sekhmet! I have a huge soft spot for Egyptian mythology inspired characters, haha. I blame the animal heads and the eyeliner. ;w;
 
Totally feel the “stick to something and go through with it” thing. I have a ridiculous amount of unfinished projects because I go “ooh, shiny new idea!”

I want to design a bunch of non pony OCs, but I don’t know which to choose. All I need is for them to have some kind of magical abilities….

Non-pony, but still MLP-based, yes? I… kinda had the opposite problem for a long time. I have a dragon OC that I use for basically everything, so I felt a bit bad reusing her for the MLP universe… well… y’know… until the fire nation Kirin attacked. And even then, I was slow on the uptake. XD
 
Unfortunately, I’m not sure what to recommend… I’m partial to the Hippogriff and/or Seapony, myself.

The ancient Egyptians were known for their exquisite jewelry. I don’t know if their makeup was actually also really beautiful, but they’re usually depicted that way, and it’s lovely!
 
Sekhmet is my favorite pony thing I’ve drawn so far, probably. I’m hoping to get my art mojo back and get to work on drawing lots of pretty pony things. (And also some scary pony things for bad guys.)

Huh… this threw me for a loop. Did they only appear once or something? They look nifty, though! I can’t really see making a Siren OC for myself, personally, because I require hind legs on my OCs. Wouldn’t hurt me to try drawing one, though!

I own about 20 or so OCs (maybe more maybe less, I’d have to dig for other pics lel) and the one that gets the most love is my alicorn OC Time Vortex. Which is ironic considering she wasn’t even my main for several years. I made Ocean Shore back in 2011 or so, then around 2014 I made Timey with GZ’S Pony Creator (gross, I know) and within the next year, Timey became my main. I have a few pieces of art of Ocean but Timey still has way more. Ocean would probably run away if she was real oops

I don’t mind helping with that. I love the various creatures in the MLP world. Since you seem to already have a Kirin OC (based on your avatar), maybe you can make a dragon, siren, Griffon, or Changeling.

Sirens can have land based disguises so you could just always give the character two forms.

Here’s Winter Sparks. A Kirin who got out of her village before the pony visit. So yeah, she’s as emotional and talkative as a log.
 
In retrospect, a siren could be of use, but the problem is finding a narrative justification for the existence of a heroic siren… Furthermore, the problem is not having enough options, is having too many… I mean, the “must have innate magic” rule, only eliminates buffalo, yak, cow/bull, sheep and goat… There are just so many races from all G4 MLP sources… including living apples. So, yeah, I find it hard to choose…
 
In an unrelated note, having a living apple and a bat pony in the same cast, sounds as an awesome and a bad idea at the same time.

It’s not too hard. I have a Siren OC that’s good. She just hunts non-sapient prey. There’s also this headcanon an anonymous user made about Siren and Kirin having a symbiotic relationship (the sirens feed off the Kirin’s anger and prevents their Nirek forms from causing too much damage as a result). So with that being said, you could make the siren OC friends with Winter Sparks.

Kinda sorta. They use disguises and feed off of emotions. It’s just one feeds on love and the other one feeds on anger and hatred.

Well helps me plug a hole I had: What to do once Winter recovers her voice and emotions, and all her anger and resentment come rushing back (long story, writing a fanfic about it). In fact, within 30 minutes I got a name: Allegro Shine.
