And then there’s Explorers’ problem of gassing their occupants with carbon monoxide, which Ford’s offering a definitely-not-a-recall repair for. Between the two, I’d rather have the faulty latch.

Let’s not forget Mercedes-Benz, they had to recall 400,000 of their cars the United Kingdom for airbag fault.

Well, a spokeswoman for Mercedes-Benz said this:
 
“If the steering column module clock spring is broken, the driver airbag warning light will be displayed in the instrument cluster, as well as a red airbag warning lamp.
 
“In rare circumstances, if the clock spring is broken and the wiring components are not sufficiently earthed, this could lead to an electrostatic discharge which could inadvertently deploy the driver’s airbag.”

That 65 Nova looks like a decent car for Americans in the 60s and it seems like the passengers in that Nova were really liking Mr. Regular’s commentary (here’s the Driving a 65 Nova video.) Speaking of trunks with the low lip, the 72 Olds Delta 88 had that too.
 
On subject of Citroen, I knew of the 73 SM Model but I think I just fell in love with these even more…

Good videos, thanks. These Citroens might even be better than the Tucker 48 (pictured below.) Not as if the Tucker wasn’t an amazing car for its time (more so on paper since they dissed the seat belts,) but the Tucker was missing a few things in comparison: 1, Seat Belts; 2, a engine in the front that slides under the passenger compartment in event of a collision; 3, that amazing suspension the Citroens have.
 

 
This 1950 Templeton Saturn is a one off but holy mackerel, it looks like it’s out of “Grandfather’s secret car porn stash” or something like that. I just found it in related searches to the Tucker.

Car designs were like art back then. Any manufacturer were pretty much able to come up with whatever design they felt like making in the industry. Giving their cars personalities.

The Tucker didn’t need to worry about the how the engine moved in a collision, though. With their engine in the rear, they’ve got nothing that will penetrate the passenger cabin from the front, so the whole nose can sort of act like a crumple zone.
 
Tucker did have some weird ideas about safety features, though. Apparently passengers were supposed to curl up in this pocket under the dash before a collision:  
 
(No idea how they were supposed to have that fast of a reaction time.) I guess seat belts just hadn’t occurred to them yet?

the shifter is this weird deal where you select the gear and then push in the clutch.

And it’s not just their trucks. Their Ford Explorers have problems too, the can poison there occupants with carbon monoxide.

Yeah, that’s a really neat feature. I’d imagine it’d be a pain for maintenance, though.
