Dragon Ball Thread

1. Pretty much half of it has been spent watching the dominant warrior standing before their defeated enemy punching them pointlessly/taunting them about their weakness/engaging in long monologues about honor/just standing there posing dramatically while the gods all scream “Chuck him off the ring already!”
    
2. Goku seemed to have acquired super healing abilities from all the time he’s spent half an arc recovering from being horribly maimed. Despite the fact that a huge point of this arc has been the lack of sensu beans, Goku’s never needed them. He’s been beat to hell, exceeded his limits and ran stamina draining transformations so many times during the tournament, and not an episode later he’s back in full power SSB going head to head with top tier fighters.
    
3. Jiren’s reactions to getting beat were rather hilarious. His “Fuck friendship! I’m the strongest! Look, look, I’ma killing your friends!” came across like a childish temper tantrum, he honestly looked like he was about to cry while he was lying in that crater, and his attempt to make a “You are most worthy opponent. I regret having to kill you.” came across as slightly disingenuous considering this.
    
4. All the same, I think it was genuine. Jiren’s a weird guy. I think he might need therapy, and not the “Steroids, weight lifting, and gods sucking my dick” therapy, because that clearly hasn’t worked.
    
5. The High Priest didn’t instruct his bosses to officially delete 17 from the god pad did he? The sneaky little shit, he knew all along.
    
6. Say what you like about Masako Nozawa, but her “Bwaaagh!” whenever Goku takes a big hit is excellent.
    
   This has been an absolutely wonderful arc, despite the stupid plot holes, bad animation, missed opportunities and the usual Dragonball pitfalls.

Looking back, I’ve got a few thoughts on this arc.
