@Josh103
you’ll get used to it I think. I do tend to get loud sometimes, but I do enjoy these damn games a lot.. :p
as for tactics, you’ll get more varied as times go on, though I think you should’ve noticed by now different weapons having different movesets? stuff like attack types as Meanlucario mentioned, useful to know. Not paramount I’d say, but definitely useful, I think in the latter games this stuff is more of a small boost on damage.
one thing I’ll say is this, small shields, normal shields, large shields and greatshields. This is useful to know, because the shields are differently powerful.
Small shields have a fast parry animation and greatshields have a lot of stability, to hold your guard. The other ones are trades and are usually for a tactic of going mixed in defense and attack, meaning you use a shield for some attacks, not all/most of them.
but for Dark Souls 2, I think power stancing is the main deal, something I admit I don’t quite understand how it works, so maybe look that up if you want. I think it’s unavoidable to have to read up on it, I don’t believe that the game has ever properly explained how it works.
Anyways, have fun in Heide’s Tower of the flame. it should be a fun initiation to the series. :p
