that is a really shit thing to hear before chrismas.

One of the few things I’ve shed a legitimate tear at in ages.

Yeah, i’m heartbroken over this news. Such sweet memories. They were like my internet buddies.

So here’s what I’ve been able to piece together based on wild internet theories: Pat’s an abrasive piece of shit who managed to finally rub Matt the wrong way one too many times. That’s likely what happened with him and Liam, as well, since Liam now wants absolutely nothing to do with Pat. Only Woolie will still have anything to do with Pat, because everybody loves Woolie, because Woolie’s easy to get along with.
 
Of course, we all knew that Pat was abrasive and caustic. That’s one of the reasons we like the guy; he has no filter. Matt and Liam are far more sensitive personality types, and they have a much lower boiling point, so to speak. Now there’s this awkward broken quadrangle friendship going on where Pat will talk to Woolie, but not to Matt or Liam, Matt will talk to Woolie and Liam but not Pat, and Liam will talk to Woolie and Matt but not Pat. And Woolie will talk with everyone. It’s all very awkward and will be at anyone’s future wedding.

I wouldn’t go that extreme but I can honestly see that being the case. Pat is a bit too harsh in a lot of situations.

Took a look at the place where it all started for me: Downpour LP part 1.
 
All these emotions building up and then the first comment hits me with a: “Don’t be sad that it ended. Be happy that it happened.”  
Never has a Youtube comment felt so personal, not sure why. Like it was waiting for me to scroll down and read it. Nevertheless, a tear was shed.

This is the part that sucks the most. If it ended on good terms because they all decided focusing on their own channels was better for all of them, while guest stars in each others stuff here and there, it would barely sting. At least in that case, we could say “In the end, they truly were, The Super Best Friends”. I’ve my fingers crossed for a reunion episode like the Jontron one where Arin appears. Matt and Pat win, they realise friendship’s more important, and 2snacks makes an episode like when Celestia and Luna hug it out in Ep2.

Unfortunately, the real world usually doesn’t work like that. People who end their friendships usually don’t have any interest in ever reuniting or talking to each other. Real people just aren’t that magnanimous or selfless.

I don’t know. I think now that they don’t have that financial and business pressure on their relationship they can hash things out. Matt is a sweet baby boy and Pat for all of his abrasiveness is a pretty understanding guy. They probably just need some space and time away from each other.

Hmm, let’s hope you’re right. It’s in their hands. All I want is for them to be happy. I feel a personal connection to them despite never having met them, so I just want to see them living their best lives.

Seeing things like that makes me hope that somewhere out there right now, someone is doing a giant compilation of best moments from every LP and game event they’ve done. Matt throwing the axe, Pat’s every horror game scare, the bizarre rambling stories from wrestling… all of it.

do think woolie likes the theme for kirby right back at ya?

I wonder if that Two Best Sisters Play episode where Matt and Pat supposedly recorded lines for it will ever happen now.

Well it’s not like he can’t pull audio from the huge amount of stuff they’ve left behind. Besides, I seem to recall 2snacks putting out something saying his version was always going to include Liam even after he was no longer involved, so surely even something like this won’t stop progress.

2snacks has put out WIP videos for it detailing progress, it’s still coming. What it might impact, however, is if he had any plans for recording original lines for the SBSP game he was planning.
