A Serious Question About Fluffy Ponies

Ok. I wouldn’t say I’m a total brony. I haven’t seen all the episodes of the show, but I do enjoy the fandom and the art work, and original content it produces.
 
Almost.
 
Along with Non-humanized pornography, I recently discovered the complete existence of fluffy ponies which I’m deciding to avoid as much as I can (except Fluffle Puff). You know, the ones where they are supposed to be cuteness overload but it backfires in a spectacular fashion? After very briefly googling them, I found myself on a booru dedicated to fluffy ponies.
 
Now…my question is a short one. A strongly worded one, but a short one notheless. Ahem…WHY THE FLYING FUCK DO THESE EXIST?!
 
I’m dead serious. A very short look through some images revealed torture images, rape, child mortality etc etc. One image in particular involved what I assume is a mother pony watching it’s baby have an arm ripped off by a human. I’m surprised I never saw one being converted into a living catherine wheel. The vast majority of the rest of the images I saw were horribly grimdark in some way or another. While I like Fluffle Puff, I find myself despising the rest of the fluffy pony art, and the stories along with it.
 
Call me narrow minded, but as far as I can tell, they seem to exist purely for the sadistic pleasure of them meeting their end at the hands of it’s own stupidity, or an abusive owner. It’s like My Little Dashie, only more nightmarish and with 20% more feces.
 
People say bronies are crazy, or weird. While that’s certainly not true (Most of you guys are very nice people who just like to watch a show or comment on artwork), I think I’ve found the people they were talking about. I.E. The friggin artists.
 
So, my question is, why do these things exist in the fandom? They only seem to serve so they can become a corpse later on.
 
And, if you happen to be a fan of fluffy ponies, all I can ask is one thing.
 
WHY?

It exists because it shocks people. Shock art only continues to exist as long as people continue to be shocked by it.

Man gets fluffy pony  
Loves it for a week  
Secretly planning to cook it.  
Apparently tastes best when mutilated by loved one.  
Does just that.  
Gore ensues.  
Tastes bad due to misstep.  
Tries again.

Not entirely. But mainly.

Actually there are Fluffy pics where they aren’t being abused.
 
Some of them are actually quite sweet.
 
Mostly the art done by marcusmaximus.
 
His art is pretty much the reason I became a fan.

Everyone’s brain works differently. Sometimes stuff just makes sense or appeals to one group of people and that group alone. I have come to accept that if something disturbing to me exists, it is because it exists. “Why” is a waste of sanity.
 
Though I’m shamed to say I waste sanity a lot more than I think I do.

I did see some stories that were sweet. One of them actually made me giggle, but the vast majority were just horrible.
 
Some were like Sweet Apple Massacre. Somehow, the childlike innocence, speech and especially the ponies undying love for it’s owner made it worse.
 
How do you get worse than Sweet Apple Massacre?

There’s something of a split between people that think they’re cute, and people that like hurting something defenseless.
 
And then there are stories that take a Watership Down kind of approach, having the fluffy ponies try to survive in a world with death on all sides, kind of combining the two.
 
It started out, at least partially, as picture of ponies with unusually fluffy coats. The original death stories, some of them at least, where the result of a dark sense of humor. Things got weird from there.

Because humanity wasn’t fucked up enough.

Because Human Imagination is beyond the realms of comprehension.

Nah, I’ve known about that stuff for a quite a while now. I just worded the sentence wrong. I meant that I try to avoid it. (It’s not my thing you see)

Fluffy pony wasn’t always this terrible.  
I remember when they died from their own stupidity or some other similarly silly means. (Remember the one where a fluffy pony drowned just by looking at the ocean?)  
Now almost all fluffy pony stuff is the equivalent of a snuff film.

they were these cute little things that would die in ridiculous ways, it was like seeing a puppy run into a patio door but moreso  
gradually the abusers took over – and actually there are some funny abuse stories (though they tend to be negligence or human stupidity rather than deliberate sadistic stuff) – but it just got creepier and creepier as time went on

Apparently bronies wanted their own version of Yukkuris. I know not why.

Oh, and how could I forget Jissouseki? Fluffy pony grimdark is pretty much the same thing as that nonsense.

People enjoy the idea of killing something small and helpless in a fantasy setting. As long as they can draw the line between fantasy and reality, let them do it.
 
I personally like fluffy ponies just because I like shock gore. Gore that there’s no reason for, abuse, etc. I also enjoy cute images, as well, but the gore is what got me into it. Doesn’t mean I’m going to go out and drive a knife through a dog’s skull because I saw it online.

I don’t think anyone here was saying anything to the contrary.

Bah, Fluffle Puffs to me are like Kuribohs;  
They are so cute, yet so annoying, so after a while you just have to torture them to death. (Surprisingly, I haven’t been able to get my hooves on some Kuriboh NSFW material yet.)
