My theory is because a lot of the original bronies were manly men who liked tiddy, beer, and uhh… computers? Anyhow, a lot of them weren’t furries at first, actually a lot of them were the sort to call furries nerds and punch them in the arm on the school bus.
So a misguided and inaccurate sense of division arose from a very obsolete and mostly now absent group of people.
Many established furries did not help either by actively cursing anything MLP for
three straight years.
In short, by 2010 the internet was already populated by volatile, argumentative “big-brains” who aren’t happy about anything,
ever. That all-encompassing and inviting nature of the furry fandom has been buried under a layer of REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE for a long time. haha
