Technically, currently a tourist that actually lives in Manila.

This is how crazy and freaking cool our New Year Celebration here. We’re the only country that light firecrackers and fireworks every single where in this place.

Fun Fact: We Filipinos throw the wildest New Year’s Day celebration ever in the world.

Because most countries in the world restricts their citizens on owning fireworks and the government or professional organizers are the one’s able to hold those pyros and are held in fewer places.

We on the other hand, there are fireworks store scattered everywhere on the country once Christmas is over. We can freely buy fireworks for ourselves and blow it all once 12:00 AM of 1st January strikes. You are going to see fireworks popping from each and every single block of your neighborhood.

Kinda like America’s Fourth of July, so to speak, but far worse. Almost WWIII-ish.

Times Square’s ball drop or Sydney’s fireworks show ain’t got shit to this nationwide phenomenon.

But then within the first hour ERs are packed with people who’ve blown fingers and hands off. They always show the aftermath on the news.

And in the First Day of the Year, the air quality of every cities and towns in the country spikes into unhealthy levels of pollution.

That’s why many environmentalists and new Administrations have been calling out on banning illegally sold fireworks.
