Man, Giorgio Moroder is very talented. Also, he worked with Freddie Mercury? Freddie’s probably my favorite musician of all time.

Yep. I would have linked more Donna Summer songs that he’s produced or co-written, but, well, let’s just say that if you’ve heard any of Donna Summer’s hits, then you’ve heard Giorgio Moroder’s production work.

Yeah, pretty much! He’s so beloved in the producing world that he worked with Daft Punk on an autobiographical song about his life.
 
He also had a short dabbling in the film world with his soundtracks to Scarface and Cat People and his 1984 recut of Fritz Lang’s Metropolis.

Coincidentally, right now in Audiosurf 2, a Giorgio Moroder song (Racer) is the song of the day.

It’s crazy to think that if Kurt Cobain was still alive, he would’ve turn 50 today.

What is one artist you like from a genre you’re not a big fan of? For example, even though I’m not a big fan of country music, I like Sturgill Simpson.

Why the hell does Google list Metallica, Pantera, and Rage Against the Machine as nu metal bands?

That’s like asking why Jethro Tull win the Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance Vocal or Instrumental Award over Jane’s Addiction, Metallica, AC/DC and Iggy Pop. Some things don’t make sense.

Unpopular opinion: A lot of modern guitar solos in rock bore me. There is more to guitar soloing than just fast shredding; you also have to put feeling into it. I don’t exactly know how to describe it, you get me?

Having actually listened to the solo portion of their song “Hail to the King,” I’m not that bugged by it. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t mind shredding at all. It’s a great display of technical proficiency on the instrument. I just think that it also has to have some sort of feeling to it.
 
Take Carlos Santana, for example. The man can definitely shred when he wants to, but his guitar solos are mostly just about putting his soul and definitive style into it.
 
Hell, my absolute favorite guitar solo of all time is “Comfortably Numb,” and that wasn’t exactly shredderific, either, but it was amazing.

My favorite guitar solo is the one from Bohemian Rhapsody.

That’s definitely one of my favorites. (Huge Queen fan here.) I think there was so much passion put into the Comfortably Numb solo, though. I don’t think I’ve heard that much put into any other solo before.
