Better they be pulled than we lose the actual humans behind it.

Cause if you think movies and TV shows are formulaic now it would be so much worse under AI. Besides they’re only worse because corporate greed is making them have to come out quicker, cheaper, and taking valuable experience away from future showrunners for a quicker buck. Like before writers were on the show the whole time and learned how to work with the crew. Now they’re told to make the season, see if it hits greenlight, and fuck off regardless.

In hindsight Sony letting the Spider-Man movie merchandise rights go back to Marvel/Disney for 100% of the movie profits was a bone-headed move.

Correct. There was a time where they had the 3 big rights (Film, television, and merchandising) to Spidey.

Not that that’s a bad thing, TBH. Not really a fan of Ultimate Spider-Man and that recent one.

Sony didn’t produce Ultimate Spider-Man or the last one. They were Disney productions. Sony Television gave us The Spectacular Spider-Man.

I know. I was talking about how Disney hasn’t really done much with Spidey on TV worth mentioning.

I agree with you on that. I wish Disney and Sony would team up and develop a third season of Spectacular as it was the best Spider-Man show.

Taskmaster is a hoot.

You cannot say “animation is not for kids” or “animation is cinema” while your examples are of modern, forgettable kiddie dreck as opposed to classics like Fritz the Cat, Heavy Metal, Fire and Ice, Wizards and Fantastic Planet.

A cool villian would be someone who can cheaply appropriate all their enemies moves.

Not even copying them well, just ‘good enough’ for the situation, it would be demoralizing and infuriating to heros that take pride in their quirky colorful skill sets.

there is a Naruto guy like this, that’s his power. Copycats are always my favorite, because i don’t have respect for anything. If you don’t like someone, the easiest way to get under their skin is find something they do well, and do it better.

It’s so weird that The Flash is being massively hyped online by fans while zero reviews have come out and the marketing campaign seems “meh” at best.

I fear a repeat of the Batman v. Superman/Suicide Squad fiasco.

Task Master is actually a well fleshed out version of that power fantasy I was rambling about. I’m invested.

He even has believable weaknesses. His photographic procedural memory can’t make him do super human feats, and if someone is manic or random, or has access to information he doesn’t (like being psychic) he can’t copy.

He even has a believable use for his ability, teaching other criminals how to fight. Being a teacher is a good use for being ‘good enough’ at a bunch of stuff. Narutos teacher has a similar ability.

Taskmaster is a good foil for any super hero. When I think of any character in my head, I think about their opposition, how different morals and backgrounds could change how a character uses their abilities (like evil superman melting a humans skull with his eyes, something the good one would never do). For me an interesting character cannot exists without an opposition.

i like when he has that new york accent because if you think about it, it clashes so much with his kinda caped reaper look.

It’s a bit funny how the last 6 or so years of major Spiderman media has adapted the Spiderverse comic premise.

The best part is they always use all the best parts (literally everything but the Inheritors) while not adapting the not good parts (literally just the Inheritors).

I don’t buy it.
Tasky has near flawless memory, and inside his Batman-level archive of feasible humanoid hand 2 hand fighting systems he would have known similar names of these BASIC ASS MOVES.

Heck why not just call its approximation? A left cross to the jaw, a roundhouse to the temple, overhead throw, side kick to the face.

Because he knows their exact movements to those specific heroes.

This is the same guy who once broke his back because he emulated one of Spiderman’s dodges. Tony Masters kinda runs on autopilot when he’s copying skills.

Also he has an on again/off again thing where he forgets things not directly related to combat.

While it’s nice the movies are using other Spider-Man antagonists, I would’ve liked to see Morlun adapted. I dunno, a group of vampiric-like beings hunting down Spider-Men across the Multiverse sounds cool.
