I think the problem was that they started getting way too bold about what they were doing. Emulation is like being a minor on the Internet (back when it was the minor who was punished and not the owner of the space they snuck into)- you had to keep that shit to yourself. Breaking the rules and bragging about doing it wasn’t “sticking it to the corpos,” it was just painting a target on themselves. I don’t doubt that some kind of replacement will come along in short order, but hopefully the next one doesn’t repeat the same mistake.

Hallmark wasn’t always the worst. In the 90s they had live action adaptations of old stories like 1001 Nights, Jason and the Argonauts and The Odyssey. They were admittedly a little cheesy and had poor cgi. But they really allowed me to explore worlds of legends and wonders. I was always compelled by the exotic wonders in them.

I don’t think modern Family Guy is one of the worst things ever. It has its awful, and I mean truly awful moments, but seeing clips and compilations of episodes especially the cutaways I admit that I smiled and even laughed at a few of them. If anything, I sympathize with Seth McFarlane on wanting the show to end so he’ll stop getting scapegoated for why its quality went down the drain.

I don’t even bother arguing with someone if I don’t think they have anything smart to say. When people argue with no point just to argue, ignore them, they’re bottom feeding, the lowest form of interaction is to annoy others.

Used to look over the guy’s impressive amount of forum posts, now I’m 10K above makes me feel like I’ve wasted all the precious time in this wasteland of a site that shoulda been spent on what currently runs relevant on my mind rn.

Jimmy Kimmel and Donald Trump both probanly respect each other. They love to bash the other but I think they both like to do so.

The two have that blunt insenstivie humor so I can see they work well together.

He was mostly chill from what I remembered, though some users did get under his skin.

He was pretty cool. I still see him on Twitter. I never learned why he left Derpi though might be when Derpi was going through hell a while back and I don’t blame him

He left because two users kept fighting with him and it was straining his mental health. I asked him how he was doing a year or two later on Discord and he said that he was doing much better since leaving the site, so I doubt we’ll see him return. At least he’s doing well last I checked.

He had his issues yes like everybody else, but for the most part me and him got along and he was a huge Starlight fan so that was a big plus.

What Lucario said, he left because by that point, there were a few users getting under his skin, especially one who really hated his guts, and mines for that matter and he was getting tired of the drama. The 2020 sitewide drama actually happened after he left so he dodged a massive nuke.

It’s funny I used to have this romantic notion of Derpibooru as a positive and friendly place for people to chill.

I always prided it as being superior to say Twitter. And that we’re more enlightened and cultured.

But of course there still has been a level of toxicity in this site too.

PB was fashioned out of the fall of the boards on 4Chan. So, it was always one of the closest to the seething chaos that was that dumpster fire.

And moderation was…sparse, to say the least.
