It was doomed once the creators walked off.

Avatar would have a hard time working in live action. I think instead of an adaptation they could do a sequel or prequel,that way they won’t be scrutinized and compared to what was already done perfectly well.  
A straiforward adaptation would most likely just feature a bunch of bland cgi, artificial lighting and forced dialogue.

being fair ATLA was a pretty dark show, it’s just the constant goofy humor kind of obscured it, that doesn’t translate as well to live action, so they may focus more on a more serious examination of the story,

I think I will just ignore everything about the show until some actual information is out

What if the key ingredient to the success of The Muppets was the chemistry between the original puppeteers, specifically, between Jim Henson and Frank Oz?

Is the live action show still happening? I thought the plug was pulled with the creators walking out and making Avatar Studios.

I’ve heard no news from it after the reports of the creators walking out and the reports of the show making Katara the older sister and wanting to bring in white actors. The latter of which might be fake.

I can’t wait for the writers to try and shoehorn in a “logical” explanation for everything that happens and completely miss the point of Courage. I’m still bitter about Return to Zombie Island.
