Dungeons and Dragons

I hate how some people take the bard stereotype way too seriously/personally. There are too many horror stories of DMs and/or players getting pissy when a player isn’t playing a stereotypical horny bard.

I think people overreact to races (or species if you want to be more accurate) having strong affiliation with an alignment. If dragons have set alignments due to their scale color, other species can have their alignments influence my their culture, society, genes, and magic (both mortal and gods). Also, funny how it’s always for evil races, and no one complains about elves and dwarves being associated with the good axis of the alignment chart.

Today I learn that the base setting for 3e was Greyhawk. It’s a different world that 5e’s Forgotten Realm as you might have guessed.

Had an idea for a Minor Wondrous Item: The Lead of Loyalty

When attached to a trained animal, such as a dog or a horse, the animal gains intelligence as if it were under the effect of Awaken Animal, but it does not gain the ability to speak. If the animal has been treated well, it can be trusted to do the following:

If the animal hasn’t been treated well, then it gains the self-awareness to run away as soon as the opportunity presents itself.

I’m debating including a rule where the animal can telepathically control the lead and use it like a tentacle.

I might steal this character idea some day.

So I guess I’m here now.

Much like fishing and camping, this is one of those things I’ve only ever heard or read alot about.

I mean, forming a group is the hard part, and made harder if the DM and/or player(s) are problem people.

So the latest announced D&D book (Mordenkainen Presents: Monsters of the Multiverse) has over 30 playable races. Lets hope they are balanced.

Today I learn about the abyssal chicken. Fun Fact: It does taste like chicken. A fatty one apparently.

So, with Mordenkainen Presents: Monsters of the Multiverse coming out in May with 30+ playable races. Do you think they will lean more on the broken-weak or broken-strong side overall?
