Ah yes, because those are the biggest problems of the film, right?  
Whenever people point these irrelevant details that have nothing to do with the overall quality of the film, I just sigh  
Star Wars is not a story about a bunch of chunks falling through the atmosphere, it’s a space opera operating within the realm of fantasy

Yes that there are remains of the second Death Star is not that big a deal in terms of suspension of disbelief.  
Now Ben Solo finding a pristine TIE fighter THAT HAD A HYPERDRIVE is where they start to push it.  
And then there’s the whole dagger thing that leads the heroes to DS2 I’d believe it if it lead to some ancient temple but the remains of space station that was intended to move through space that’s just pushing.

First point: It IS a big friggin’ problem cause it basically needed to be in this condition in order to drive the plot along when in actuality, they’re be nothing left cause ROTJ showed it to have been atomized.
 
Second point: It’s not irrelevant if something doesn’t match up and breaks your suspense of disbelief. It’s hard to follow a film if it doesn’t follow some sort of rules.
 
Third point: That sort of defense is designed to brush away criticism, not to combat it. If you’re going to discuss the issues, actually discuss them, don’t just throw them out the window.
 
Fourth point: If we burned criticism down…then we’d be no better than film critics…

Seriously, this is like when people “criticize” the OG Star Wars for having a single exhaust port that led to the empire’s defeat  
It doesn’t fucking matter, I can suspend my disbelief for that

A theory I heard for the TIE is that due to it being near Palatine’s throne room, it’s possible it’s an Imperial Guard TIE, just not painted red in canon due to laziness them being easier to me mistaken for normal TIEs when they don’t want anyone knowing who’s inside.

I have to disagree with you there. Movies can easily ask you to suspend your disbelief too often, especially when done multiple times in a short amount of time. The Death Star’s exhaust port was one, where Palatine’s throne room on the water moon is one of many.

I won’t disagree to you there, and it is a theory that uses Legends info, so it may not be the canon reason.

I think the clone wars season is going to be pretty good.

The thing was the size of a small moon. The “particals” you see during the explosion could easily be the size of office buildings.
 
You under estimate the sheer mass of the second Death Star. It was much larger and stronger than the first one.
 
Also, to dispel a physics issue. Just because the core could generate the power for the turbo laser to destroy a planet does not mean that blowing up the core would yield the same level of energy.
 
If that were the case, the surrounding moons would have been annihilated in the explosion.

Still though, it IS a little convenient that THAT particular portion of the second Death Star survived intact enough for a symbolic battle. But it’s not a big deal in the long run.

I’d wager the main gun area would be the most heavily reinforced of the whole place. And that Palps chamber in particular would be hardened.

…Anyone else find it a little weird though that we’ve now seen two separate Endor moons in the franchise… but not Endor itself?
