I find it funny that the Soviets beat the United States in basically every aspect of the space race, yet we’re still considered the winners.

-First object in space  
-First living thing in space  
-First human in space  
-First human to do a full orbit of Earth  
-First woman in space  
-First spacewalk  
-First space station  
-First human-made object on the Moon
 
Americans:  
-First humans on Moon  
-???  
-Profit!
