Yeah. We’re aware that Christmas was a pagan holiday based on the Roman holiday Saturnalia, and was later snatched up by the church.

Christmas is more of a mish-mash of a few holidays.
By the by, Saturnalia and early Yule traditions being most influential. Though the church also plagiarized itself and rolled several independent catholic holidays into it. There may even be some holdovers going as far back as Zoroastrianism.
The result is the winter holiday hodgepodge that we know today, now with a healthy dose of late stage capitalism on top.

As far as history records, you couldn’t just run around and murder folk. But you could call your slave master a peice of shit and not get beat for it.
