For a random dump of news, [DeSantis is now moving to expand his "Don't Say Gay" bill into all grades.](https://apnews.com/article/dont-say-gay-desantis-florida-gender-d3a9c91f4b5383a5bf6df6f7d8ff65b6) Previously the bill only ranged from kindergarten to 3rd grade, now it'll go up to 12th grade, basically meaning only college courses are exempt from the bill's ban on talking about sexual orientations or gender identity. *For now.*
Because of course, it was never about "protecting kids".
And in vaguely related news, [a principal in Tallahassee, Florida was ousted after parents of sixth graders were angered because their art class showed off the Statue of David in an art history assignment.](https://www.thedailybeast.com/tallahassee-principal-ousted-after-parents-rage-over-michelangelos-pornographic-statue)

In a good news twofer for unions, [Biden's re-election staff will be unionized when he kicks off his campaign next month.](https://apnews.com/article/biden-campaign-2024-union-labor-254d11b044a4bf2209ec434a702a1b96)
Biden's been kinda back and forth on labor rights. He'll give all the cheap platitudes for it, but when it comes to substantial union support that would actually inconvenience corporations he's been pretty spotty. So yeah more of the same here.
Also, [two major rail corporations have come to agreement with their unions to provide, among other benefits, the 7 paid sick leave that rail unions across the country have been fighting for.](https://www.progressiverailroading.com/labor/news/UP-CSX-sign-additional-sick-leave-agreements-with-rail-unions--68857)
All it took was for perpetual train derailments getting put in the national discourse for it to happen! Norfolk Southern still refuses to budge though.
