The right loves to paint the left as believing, “Everything I don’t like is Hitler/whoever.” One of the rules of propaganda allegedly spoken by Joseph Goebbels: “Accuse the other side of that which you are guilty.” In other words, Rufo is literally intent on manipulating Americans into believing “everything I don’t like is critical race theory.”
 
Further, I’m positive most people railing against it in this chat aren’t actually privy to how it works, among how other things do either. Maybe we should quit the sciolism. I don’t know, just a thought.

Because I don’t believe Sil, since he’s mentioned about 30 jobs he’s supposedly done, among a wide variety of dubiously stated areas of expertise.

Being a teacher is good for knowing the gist of how the job works and how children behave when faced with preset exercises, but keep in mind that having been a teacher is not a crutch to make whatever you say instantly authoritative and infallible. I have met and seen quite a few teachers by profession who do a piss poor job at handling students’ personal problems and may have even made their lives worse on occasion.

If you don’t teach kids about LGBTQ+ and how it actually works, your kids will be confused as to what it is when they grow up.

I think we just need to have a series of classes called “society at large” that discusses common social issues, their ramifications, and the various theories surrounding them.

If you ever see a person idolize Justin Trudeau, please snap them out of their trance or cut ties with them.

It’s precisely because they don’t fully understand yet that they need to be taught, before they pick up mistaken ideas they need to unlearn. No, not in full detail any more than they’re learning any topic in full detail, but at least the basics.

Remember when DC police gassed protesters so Trump could feel safe walking across the street to hold a bible upside down? They’re now saying they weren’t ordered to. It was a case of poor communication.
 
2 takeaways here. 1) it’s a bald face lie. We have Bill Barr - Attorney General at the time - admitting on camera that he ordered the protesters cleared.
 
Or 2) Barr lied and they really did have confusing orders. Which means when they aren’t sure what they are supposed to do, their default reaction is to gas American citizens.

A nice segue into a topic I’ve heard discussed again. That being about worries of a “Smart” or “Competent” Trump next election.
 
I think that’s missing the point. “Smart Trump” or “Competent Trump” are both oxymorons. Trumpism, at its core, is a celebration of stupidity. A validation of incompetence, a haven for failure. Trumpism required a billion things to align just right to work as well as it did, and while many of those enablers are still there many are not.
 
Fascism in all its forms will be a problem going forward, particularly in today’s American politics. It’s important to recognize the mechanisms they’ll be using to sneak it in, but more importantly to differentiate it from previous examples. Otherwise you’ll miss the forest for the trees.
