The Iran thing won’t impact much as it has no barings on the US directly. Stuff going on in the middle east, contained to the middle east, will be far from the minds of most Americans. The market isn’t even freaking out, stocks are fine and Brent crude is still well below 80 dollars a barrel.

The strike thing might be bad optics, but it will take months before the economic ramifications are felt, and then it will only be if the strike is still going on. Most companies stock up on around 70% of their end-of-year stock before October, which is the end of the fiscal year for a lot of companies. Most major firms exceeded that because the strike has been telegraphed for the last 3 months.

While there may be some issues with perishable goods, not enough would be lost in the near term to drive up prices.

Medium term, if this strike goes on past October, we could start seeing some effects mid November/early December, well past the election.

At which point Israel will nuke Tehran.
