Exactly. This proves that many people on the internet are gullible enough to believe that everything internet celebrities say are like the word of god.
As you know, I played X2 first, and as such, didn’t know of what happened to Zero in X1. I didn’t really pay any mind to the X-Hunters in my first playthrough because hey, I figured it wasn’t a big deal, I didn’t even know how to fight them.
Then came the fight with Zero. He CRUSHED me, he was so fucking hard, that I would have never beat him if I wasn’t playing on an emulator with save states. I remember being one of the hardest things I had ever seen as a kid. But maybe I just sucked back then, I don’t know.
Now, the real part of the introduction comes when I decided to play the game a second time. This time, I had figured out how to fight the X-Hunters and gather Zero parts. I strolled all confidently in the final stage, thinking that I wouldn’t have to fight Zero again.
And then Sigma shows up with this shadow Zero. I feel a small tinge of fear, am I going to have to fight him again? Oh god I was not ready to fight him again.
Then, this music starts playing, and an offscreen shot blasts Dark Zero to oblivion.
And then the real Zero swoops in and shouts “You should have studied the blueprints closer, Sigma, there is only one Zero!”.
And that line struck me so much that it has stuck with me to this day.
