@Meanlucario
I agree that good games, are good games, regardless of who published them. Matter fact EA have been the ones publishing my personal favorites, namely the Dead Space trilogy and the Mass Effect Trilogy.
But I don’t trust much of the fandom either, especially ones who got a horse in the race–the ones who either want to see it fail for reasons or the ones who want it to be good for the same reasons.
me personally, like you, I’ll wait until one of y’all played it, or if curiosity got the better of me, or if I found out there’s a cute hijabi character in the game.
(seriously what’s up with the absolute absence of hijab characters in the goddamn dark fantasy genre? You’d THINK it taking place in the equivalent of the “pre-modern era” you’d see more women covered up)

@Penguin Dragneel
well…yes and no.
in DA Veilguard case, the review codes have been given out prioritizing curated reviewers,
namely the ones who are more likely to give the game favorable reviews, preferably ones who are generous with giving big numbered scores.
i.e reviewers who give out games they enjoy a 7 or an 8 (because they only give the 9s and 10s to highly exceptional games) are NOT priority.
reviewers whose metrics are vague, like “recommended” “buy on sale” “worth your money” are NOT priority.
There is always the monetary incentives for EA execs to bump scores as early as possible and there are too many factors at play other than the creative drive to make good games and having faith in it.

Hmm… My opinion might be a hot take, so just bear with me.
Personally, I don’t really read reviews from big review sites because out of the many people that work there, only one person will review a game and give it a score that may not correspond with fans or general audiences, and that’ll cause a ripple effect for sales, especially if the person from said review site give a game people like a lousy score simply because they didn’t like it, and that’ll cause people to stay away from the game by proxy, resulting in poor sales.
I part of the “wait-and-see” crowd, mainly because new games are expensive and I wanna get them when they’re on sale (unless you’re Nintendo and your games are still being sold for $60 after about seven-ish years), but I’m also the kind of person that would tell you “just play the game and see if you like it.”
In my opinion, you really shouldn’t rely so heavily on reviews to see if a game is good or not (unless, of course, both the critic and audience are unanimous in their belief.) The only way to see if a game is good to you is if you play the game yourself. You could either come across a diamond in the rough, or a pile of dust in the end. It’s your choice if a game is good or not to you.

I feel like the Volatile has more impressive in-game feats, but taking the Licker’s feats in Damnation should mean it’s just superior as far as abilities are concerned.

So instead of just putting game soundtracks on Spotify, after DMCAing many Youtubers just for uploading memorable music, Nintendo is releasing their own pointless music app, locked behind NSO, and drip feeding music. How very Nintendo.

Since it was Halloween, I fired up the Dead Space remake and gave it a try.
Definitely feels like if Resident Evil had sex with Silent Hill… in space. Not that it’s a bad thing, mind you.

Rub my belly!
@Mikey
I checked it out, the AP isn’t bad, the music is high quality, but it looks like It’ll take forever for them to add most game soundtracks to it.
I’m pretty patient with the retro game NSO aps on Switch, (as I understand making a retro game work on a new console takes time, bug testing, rights issues, and such) but music from first, and second party Nintendo games should be something easier to upload.
And truthfully, most of the soundtracks are available on YouTube, seeing as Nintendo won’t release soundtrack CDs and such anymore.
So it’s just a small bonus for those of us who subscribe to NSO. It’s not bad honestly, but not super great either.
And frankly I don’t use Spotify.

I decided to download the Monster Hunter Wilds beta to give the game a test.
@Penguin Dragneel
I played the OG awhile back and enjoyed it. Heard the remake fixed the bug where Issac was unable to talk the entire game.

Ooh.
Dead Space Remake.
I genuinely felt like DS:Remake should be the canonical prequel to Dead Space 2.
I put the OG Dead Space like the pilot episode to Dead Space. A proof of concept of some kind. I understand they didn’t plan for sequel and just wanted to make a standalone RE4 meets Silent Hill meets ALIEN horror game
But then sequels were made, added gave Isaac dialogue, gave him attitude, changed likeness models, revamped the zero-G mechanic, extended the lore, and stuff.
