We’re excited to announce the launch of Derpibooru’s Commission Directory - a new, easy to use way to help artists advertise their commissions, and help people seeking commissions find artists to draw them!
If you’re an artist who offers commissions, we’d like to invite you to create a listing. Simply visit the directory, click on “Create my listing” and fill out the form! Once you’re done, add a few items to your listing (such as vectors, sketches, flat colored images, etc), and your listing will appear in the directory!
And if you’re looking to get a commission, feel free to browse the directory and hopefully find an artist to buy art from! Since this is a just-launched feature, there’s not many listings yet, but that should be fixed really soon :D
Also, we have added Site Rule #9 to address topics specific to advertising commissions on Derpibooru. Please be sure to review it.

If you have any questions/suggestions, please let us know! I’ll be happy to address them. Though to address a few things that were asked already:
Q: How can I show my commissions sheet on my listing?
A: Simply upload your commissions sheet to the site, then enter the image ID (derpibooru.org/1351815) on your listing.
Q: I created a listing, but it does not appear on the results page
A: Make sure your listing is set to “currently accepting commissions”, and that you added at least one item to your listing, such as a fully shaded commission. Commissions that are closed or do not have any items listed will not appear in the directory or search results.
Q: Can I create listings in currencies other than USD?
A: Not at the moment, but this is something we are currently looking into.
Q: I want to offer a different category/image type, will that be possible?
A: We can always add more. Just suggest what you’d like to offer, and if enough people like that suggestion, it’ll be added.
Q: Why use “categories” instead of tags?
A: We’ve noticed that commissions are generally advertised in very broad terms, while tags are generally very specific. For example, most people advertise commissions as “I can draw canon characters” instead of listing every single character they will draw. While it would be cool to type in specific tags and find artists who will draw that specific thing, it would be a management nightmare requiring artists to add potentially thousands of tags to their listing!
are colorists even a thing?like would people actually pay for having their sketches painted and shaded? because i always see how much more extra it costs to have your commision go beyond a black and white sketch.because id love to make a few bucks on the side just painting and shading pictures,it would be cheaper than paying the extra 30 dollars on profesional shading,i already paint for fun,so might as well try to make something of it.
