This depends entirely on the community of people participating in your book club. If most people have the expectation that the rules are lax, and furthermore people have been bringing Hitler praise since its inception (see: the years and years of Aryanne pics), and then one day your junkie buddy that nobody in the club knows comes up to you and is like “hey man fuck Hitler you should stop hosting this”, and then you change your rules, and then a huge chunk of the community is mad - then yes, they have the moral right, because you should listen to your club members over some junkie that has never participated in the club even slightly.
Of course, you absolutely have the right to ban Hitler praise from this point on. But equally everyone else has the right to complain about it, yell at you, even insult you and call you names (sure that’s wrong as well, but you know, it’s legal, so they have the right to do it), and of course boycott your club. And if they really liked your club before this, but there are no other groups quite like it around right now, then they also have every right to be resentful towards you for this change and harbour quite vicious ill-will. None of that is illegal either.
This is why questions of law are irrelevant here. No, Derpibooru isn’t doing anything illegal. Neither is anyone complaining. The crux of your argument seems to be “they can do what they did, it’s legal”, but the thing is, this is completely and utterly uncontroversial - so your posts bring no substance whatsoever to this discussion. Yes, they can legally do it, and we can legally be unhappy about it and tell them so, and currently that’s what both sides are doing; how astute of you to observe that the entire situation is legal and nobody has broken the law here. I’d almost think this was another baiting attempt to derail the discussion, but I don’t want to cry “sockpuppet!” at every questionable post especially when trust is already low, so I don’t know.
