I doubt people will forget G4, (people still like the original Ninja Turtles or Sonic cartoons, despite several new ones coming out sense then) and frankly G4 is still quite popular, despite the fandom dramas, popularity boom it had dying down. and such. (This very site still gets hundreds of new fanart pieces per day.)
Heck, how many dedicated Ninja Turtle or Sonic cons can you think of from the past 8 years? MLP is one of the few series that got several of it's own conventions, and such, which in itself is impressive.
