So I watched that Theatrical short of Hanazuki at the MLP premiere. It was my first time seeing the show in action, and I thought it was kind of cute.

I don’t know if this is the best thread to discuss this but I need some advice from other people here who watch lots of cartoons from this decade to help lift a friend’s spirits up.
 
My best online friend feels very threatened by the popularity of Steven Universe, Star Vs. The Forces of Evil among other shows due to how they are animated and how a lot of former bronies are leaving the fandom to favor these shows instead. I personally don’t see why certain shows sharing similar artstyles is bad. We’ve seen this trend with other cartoons in previous decades. As for ex-bronies favoring these other shows? I don’t have a good reason to back it up.  
I don’t want to hate these shows like how he is starting to. I personally think these cartoons are as good as MLP. But with him, MLP has made such a dramatic impact in his life, he doesn’t want to lose interest in ponies if he were to watch these other cartoons.

Is he in the mindset that you can’t have multiple interests? Because we’ve had quite an overlap with other fandoms without people becoming “former bronies” or people who hate other franchises due to being a part of these other fandoms.

Y’know, between this and the Rocko’s Modern Life movies, Captain Planet’s appearance in OK KO, Darkwing Duck showing up in Ducktales (which could hopefully lead to a revival spinoff?) and the upcoming Animaniacs revival, we’re really entering a 90s toon nostalgia boom. I wonder what will be next?
 
Personally, I’m crossing my fingers for Swat Kats.

Swat Cats is lame, TBH we are running out of good 90s shows to revive, most of the toons then were complete trash like Dexter’s Lab and Ren and Stimpy,

no it wasn’t, but thank fucking primus i was able to criticize Swat Cats without the first reply being a bunch of braidead garbage about how the show that had hollow violence as it’s only selling point was great,

I love both Dexter’s Lab and Powerpuff Girls. I thought they were amazing cartoons.
