Maybe the humor or something resonated with some of them. I mean MarsReviews gave the show a fair shot while he thought the show was awful he had some good things to say about it.

So, … there’s a new Stitch series set near the Huangshan Mountains, in Anhui province, China, titled Stitch & Ai (安玲与史迪奇) that’s set between the original movie and the anime?

So, to recap, the franchise is comprised of…

Lilo & Stitch (2002, film)
Stitch! The Movie (2003, TV movie and pilot for the TV series)
Lilo & Stitch: The Series (2003-2006, TV series [duh])
Lilo & Stitch 2: Stitch Has a Glitch (2005, direct-to-video; set between the first film and the TV series)
The Origin of Stitch (2005, short film)
Leroy & Stitch (2006, TV movie)
Stitch! (2008-2011, anime)
Stitch and the Planet of Sand (2012, anime special)
Stitch! A Perfect Memory (2015, anime special)
Stitch & Ai (2017-?, TV series)

I think I vaguely remember those from watching them in reruns. Then again, live-action TV series (All In The Family, Good Times, Sanford and Son, et al.) from that time also dealt with things like inflation and unemployment, racism, rape, the deaths of loved ones, amongst other issues.

However, you don’t even have to look that far back for cartoons about serious issues: Why, Charlie Brown, Why? (aired 16 March 1990 on CBS) and various episodes of Captain Planet and the Planeteers (though the one I remember most was Mind Pollution from season 2) are ones that spring readily to my mind.

Ugg… Captain Planet.
I can never think of that show without wanted to pollute, because as I grew I started to hate ham-fisted environmental stuff.
I can’t believe I actully owned some of the toys at one point…

And the OK K.O.! crossover just didnt sit right with me.

I actually liked the crossover because they didn’t cheap out and actually went with the message that a single (super)hero couldn’t solve the world’s problems and the little environmental message at the end of it like the episodes in the original series. I mean, I get where some people are coming from with the actual Captain Planet series, what with the villains/antagonists more often than not being supervillains rather than average people that were either ignorant or greedy.

Oh I actually liked it, but it still didn’t sit right with me.
And hell, it somehow made heart make some sense in context then the actual Captain Planet series ever did, it was freaked empathy like Troy in Star Trek TNG.

Oh and Captain Planet doing a JoJo like pose.

I think they tried, on occasion (or was it only a few times?), to show Ma-Ti as a mediator in disputes between the other Planeteers, but yes, his Heart power was the butt of a few jokes online to say the least.

And yes, as a fan of JoJo and having seen Phantom Blood, Battle Tendency, and currently in the process of getting through Stardust Crusaders, I enjoyed that little reference.

Normal is overrated
I hear people complaining how episodes of the new DuckTales take place in Duckberg instead of around the world, but they seem to forget that a good chunk of the original show Duckberg was also the main setting.

Also I personally don’t mind the fact that it’s focusing more on the kids. Since they have much more personalities and depth than the original show, it gives it a new take while also being respectful to the source material. I’m not saying the show shouldn’t be about Scrooge, but I honestly fine with the kids getting more focus.

Which is the problem. They said is not enough for any conviction, or it shouldn’t be; what is proven is all that should matter.
