Yes and did so completely missing the point of why people complain about it and insulting the very medium they work in.
 
There are fandoms filled with people who claim to be “Critical” of their subject matter’s flaws when they’re really just shippers and other whiny self-entitled pissbabies who are mad because the writers won’t go out of their way to cater to them. If a writer rightfully dismisses their mad ravings or other fans criticize their “Criticism” they proceed to project their own inability to take criticism onto everyone else.
 
So it baffles me how TTG’s writers are the EXACT kind of people they are/complain about but they’re in fandoms where the creators are very much not like that at all.

They either devote entire episodes into mocking and/or smearing their complainers or will still make quick off the cuff “jokes” or allusions to said detractors in otherwise unrelated plots.
 
By my last count before I dropped the show there were 5 or so episodes centered around the subject.
 
TBF tho, the early “fandom” were an ungrateful lot. It’s not a surprise a creator would become jaded. But TTG, being TTG, merely gave the haters actual ammo for their toxin and now both sides are garbage (justified or not).

They also made an episode mocking a trope that pretty much lived and died in the 1980s, the ‘forced message to appease the parents groups’ trope in “Finally, a Lesson”.
 
In which they teach you how to become a landlord.

Weird Al as Darkseid was incredible.
 
TTG of course had to screw it up by not stop saying “IT’S WEIRD AL!!!!1!1!”

The Mewberty episode was surprisingly intense.
