Here’s a comment I found on Reddit that made me rethink the CGI in episode 3 of Zombieland Saga.

I haven’t watched the ep yet, and even I knew that the CG was a reference from the episode preview. Idols and CG have gone together since at least Idolmaster, if not earlier.

Funny thing, his helmet had horns early (in prequel manga) but it was damaged and GS stopped having horns on helmets for obvious reason.

I had this one in my Crunchyroll queue called “FLIP FLAPPERS” I don’t know what’s going on but it’s really cute.

For real though, I just can’t get into his VA’s performance. I know I’m in the minority in this but it just doesn’t work for me.
 
As for the performances, the song was good and the CG was absolutely on-point for what they were trying to do. Overall though, I don’t feel that the cogs fit. Having a sincere story about trying to find humanity through art, while surrounding it with parody and that goddamn Producer is not meshing for me. I guess I can stick around to see if it puts it all together.

Oh, that. Okay, that was something. It didn’t address my biggest issue with that ep (which was the imprisonment thing) but if they never bring that up again, I guess I can dismiss it as just unfortunate framing.
