This is the problem of western markets. They try to force change onto things to attract a phantom fanbase, which pushes the old one away.
 
Nogashi realizes that people like the game the way he makes it, so there’s no reason to change it. If he was in the west, places would say “There’s women that like this, now you need a playable female character, she’s super strong, respected and loved! and talk about this and that!” which if implemented would not please those women that bought into the series, since now it’s not the same game. It’s just the wankfest of these hacks that wanted their fanfic to be a video game.

I wish more game devs would make games for their audience instead of trying to grow broad. I don’t think I’ve personally been a victim to losing a series from inclusivity-motivated changes, but my heart goes out to those that have.
