I have no idea who that is honestly, I do have music related stuff to talk about though.

I, by what I can only assume was the grace of the gods, managed to see both of my favorite bands in concert about a week ago. Tyr and Eluveitie (and Metsatoll, but I’m sort of meh on them) hit up a place about 2 hours from me called The Chop Shop. I didn’t think I’d ever get to see either band, let alone at the same time.

@Zincy
I flippin’ love Metsatöll. But then again, i have so many fond memories associated with their music i may be biased.
That, and being able to understand the lyrics may help as well.

In other news, i’ve recently acquired a fondness for EBM and aggrotech.
Suicide Commando, FGFC820, Tactical Sekt and such.

I have no idea who that is honestly

anthony fantano.

he pretty much does review of most contemporaneous albums from all genres so he tends to be most searched for new musical works.

I will say this, even if I wasn’t a big fan of their recorded stuff, they put on a hell of a show. Not as good as Tyr, they were just killing it, especially Gunnar, I’ve never seen a man happier on stage than him.

@twistedmetalero
never knew about a new Aphex Twin album

anyways records this year ive dug so far:
Taking Back Sunday - Happiness Is
Bayside - Cult
United Nations - The Next Four Years
Hands Like Houses - Reimagine EP
Anberlin - Lowborn (RIP guys)
68 - In Humor and Sadness
Death Grips - Niggas on the Moon
Against Me! - Transgender Dysphoria Blues
The Menzingers - Rented World
Mastodon - Once More Round the Sun
Every Time I Die - From Parts Unknown

records im hyping for currently (some already came out this month but i still have yet to listen to them)
newest New Found Glory record
newest Pianos Pianos Become the Teeth record
Finch - Back to Oblivion
newest Circa Survive record
Stolas - Allomaternal
the newest Hail the Sun record
the upcoming Between the Buried and Me coming next year

dissapointments this year:
Darkest Hour - Darkest Hour
In Flames - Siren Charm (even though it has grown on me i still think they could of done better)
Cynic - Kindly Bent to Free Us
Emarosa - Versus
Slaves debut

new Darkest Hour was way too poppy and watered down to even be remotely likable (though i have yet to give it a second try), which is a massive dissapointment aince ive loved all their albums up until now and i enjoyed the new Emarosa, In Flames and Cynic albums but i felt they were a bit underwhelming, as for Slaves i found them really boring.

@hype
never heard of Necrony but i do enjoy Nasum (though ive only listened to Inhale/Exhale) a bit, which is a side project of them (as ive discovered), might listen to them as long as theyre not straight-up Death Metal, because i cant stand that stuff.

@MoogSourceVermona
Nasum are too punkish for me (i need to listen to them again however, its been a while since ive heard them), but yeah Necrony is crushingly heavy old school swedish death metal/goregrind

i was just curious if anyone knew about classic DM around here, but its no suprise if there isnt
Twisty

so i decided to listen to yung lean.

the production is so fucking amazing but yung lean is complete shit (but yeah i know he is meme rap and all)

i feel rocky would be better in it.

@PaskaNaakka
I used to be into some harder EBM and industrial stuff until I started moving towards Futurepop and other similar, more synth-oriented EBM. I still can’t help but feel that many of these bands are sorely underrated (outside of Germany and Scandinavia at least).

@twistedmetalero
It’s not what I’d call innovative, yet Syro sounds so fresh compared to the EDM competition these days. Thankfully RDJ hasn’t lost his touch after all these years.

I’m also seeing plenty of distaste for 180db_, but I can’t stop playing it on repeat. It’s just so repetitive and downright dirty, but in the best possible way. Hell, the whole first half of the album has some brilliant synths, while the rest sounds like a near-seamless continuation of Analord or The Tuss which I used to be more attuned to.

Also, MFW XMAS_EVET10 is the Metz Track from RDJ’s 2010 live set.

@CodeLuxor

yeah aphex said he didint mean to break boundaries so i didint expect an album that would BTFO every other artist ever.

in the topic of DG (favorite band) i have grown to enjoy their IDM style of NLDW more these days than when i first heard it, and yet again disagreen with plebthony i have found deep web to be the best song in the album (should have been the closer)

but still doesnt beat niggas.
Twisty

listened to this really fucking awesome rap album

full

pharaohe has such a fucking GREAT FLOW trought the whole album.

he reminds me of biggie in the fact that his voice is so in match with the beat its like its another instrument in the song.
