We most likely will. Sakurai said not to expect too many new fighters, but I doubt that means “you’re literally only getting two new characters and a clone fighter”.
 
The previous game had 17 newcomers, not including DLC. Before Ultimate’s launch, we might get at least 5 more newcomers, 10 at the maximum.

Not to mention, it’s currently still June. Smash Ultimate releases in December, and you bet they’re gonna have stuff to announce during those 6-7 months.

Still sticking to 7 to round the total number to a good nice 70. Ridley, Inklings, Isaac, Simon Belmont, Wonder Red, Dixie Kong, and Spring Man. I don’t know if Echo Fighters count, as they seem to be treated differently, putting my bets on the original echo fighter and my SF main, Ken :p

Decidueye, Spring Man, Medusa, K.Rool, Simon Belmont, Dixie Kong, Dark Samus.

With all these characters, “Complete Classic/All-star/etc. with every fighter” challenges and All-star are going to be a pain in the arse. Like it wasn’t already a grind in Sm4sh.

TP Zelda was probably my favorite design, but damn am I loving what they did with this incarnation
 
I was legitimately getting bored of all the never changing Twilight designs, so I’m quite happy that most of the Zelda cast are getting different looks this time around, and this Zelda looks really fun

Honestly If there was one problem with TP Zelda it’s that she was far too stoic and cold looking and little else, this one just has so much more personality, she’s just so much fun to watch, I actually want to play her this time around.

Sheik’s current design is actually based on concept art for Sheik for Twilight Princess even though she never made it into the game, so there is still a single character who keeps it from actual retirement.
