In a steampunk-esque world, wormholes suddenly appeared several years ago and with it, came out grotesque monsters made of liquid and plate metal. They nearly destroyed the world, leaving only a few safe havens. To counter this threat, groups of highly trained mech pilots were born, wielding steampunk mechs and carrying specialized antimatter weaponry that can harm these monsters and close the portals. However, these mechs can only be piloted by the Tainted, people who were affected by the portals, giving them animalistic features such as cat ears.
After many years, the world is far more safer than it was before and several new settlements exist. The show stars a young cat girl who was formerly a steampunk mech pilot, but retired since the world no longer needs her. She travels all over in search of her sister, who was also a mech pilot and carries her mech in a pocket device.

Personally, I’d like a monster girl anime that takes place in the early sixties ft. Robots modeled after the vehicles of the time. Maybe even a cyberpunk Mon girl anime sounds like a good idea.
