Funny how its method of evolution was based on some urban legend saying that if you tilt the Game Boy upside down, one of your Pokémon evolves into Yoshi…or some variation of it.

It was Luigi and you had to catch a Lickitung with an ultra ball with the gameboy upside down, and it wasn’t an urban legend but an April Fools joke by Nintendo Power.

I also remember one rumor where if you got a Chansey up to level 100 without using a single Rare Candy and went to the spot where Mewtwo was in the Cerulean Cave, Chansey’s egg would hatch into a Togepi.

Is there a way to get a Jigglypuff but not waiting until almost the end of the game?  
I can try the Global Trade thing, but it tolds me that I need to get luck if ANY of those people are actually trading that pokemon.

Geez, I haven’t touched Pokémon Moon in months.

The GTS or waiting til the end of the game. Plus I think you can get a good enough Fairy type early in the game Azuril and Flabebe.

Ugh, I am prefering the way Diamond/Pearl handled the GTS.  
You just literally write what pokemon you want, and all the traders with that specific pokemon appear.

My advice is to trade a pokemon that’s hot on the market to boost your chances. It worked with me.

Funny enough, I’m going to the theater twice in November for events: one for the two-night showing of the new Pokémon movie, the next for Casablanca’s 75th anniversary (mom’s going to the latter).

He’s playing X so the best thing for him to trade for a Jigglypuff is possibly the other fairy you can get early in the game. I think it’s Swirlix.

There was also this rumor I remember where if you bred a level 30 Abra and a Ditto, and put the resulting Egg into that little shrine in the Ilex Forest, the Egg would hatch into a Celebi.
 
It was, of course, completely false, but I was 12 (and it was 2003, I think, so the Internet was still a thing you could only use at school in the computer lab)
