I tend to experiment when doing a replay.  
I never do one full gimmick(no evo, mono teams, and so on) but I do thing I hadn’t done before in that game.  
This can take the form of actively avoiding mon I used in a team before, trying out mon I normally don’t like to use, and other things I can think of.
 
This is just another idea.
 
And the only way I would do a no evo run is if I had a team of mon that are all one staggers.

I would say that is debatable, you don’t necessarily have to train a mega Charizard Y differently. I would say both their stats are comparable

In my next playthrough of Y, I’m going to pick Chespin as my main starter and Charmander as my Kanto starter. Haven’t quite formulated a full team yet, but it’ll probably mostly be Pokemon I’ve used in Kalos playthroughs before.

I too tend to avoid Pokemon I’ve used long enough in a game to fight the Elite Four, which is why I WANT to use this Golett I found so bad (with its awesome Iron Fist ability, and it already knowing Mega Punch and Shadow Punch), but I used a Golurk in my White version (I even taught it Fly because why not?).

I try to have at least one ‘mon from the gen I’m currently playing (not including the starter Pokemon).
 
It just doesn’t feel right to play Gen6 with all Gen 1-5 Pokemon, you know?

Mine tend to be a mixture of new mons I like and old ones I like, strangely enough Black2 was the first game I had a growlith/Arcanine as a main team member, it took five and a half gens for one to land as an exclusive to the game I actually had

Almost right off the bat we see what looks like a Rockruff following you and, is that Vulpix getting a check up? I’m not sure how I feel with letting the Aether foundation doing such things to my pokemon
 
Oh and Sun looks like Gilligan now, Moon looks better than she did in the originals though
