I love the comparison between the Empire and the First Order as the distinction between Nazis and the alt-right because just like the alt right, the First Order is pathetic and led by two whiny crybabies
 
To make it clear I love the characters s of Hux and Kylo but they are horrible people

Even if he had to sacrifice his life, why like that? Luke did not have to throw his lightsaber over his shoulder it was nothing, plus why does he now see the Jedi as having an utter legacy of failure when HE won the fight against the dark side along with his closest friends!? Seriously, one bad apple ruined it all at the New Jedi Academy he had a major hand in creating? Plus, Snoke’s backstory should have BEEN IN THE FILM! Rian may have had some okay-good TV shows along with a couple of films(like Looper, which he directed), that does not mean that he has a good grasp of Star Wars lore and characters. Its not surprising, seeing as current-year Rian Johnson saw it as “necessary” to make the Canto Bight scene drag on for too long, as well as cutting out the 16-second scene of Luke mourning Han! Rose Tico is bland and overhyped, and she doesn’t really add anything much to the story save for making a preachy, lame monologue about “protecting what you love” after risking her own life to save Finn while he was trying to destroy a major turret no matter the cost, then goes into a coma. Well, maybe in Episode IX she will die in that coma.

Can you find me the scene where it says Finn’s sacrificing myself won’t do anything about please?  
Cause when I try find that scene all I see is Poe saying it’s a suicide mission (because it wasn’t obviously one from the start using old piece of shit speeders against top of the line fighters and walkers) which to me didn’t say it wouldn’t work just you’re not coming back.  
I admit I may be missing something since I’m just going by scenes on YouTube so please point me to the scene where it is stated out right that Finn sacrificing myself wouldn’t do anything.

The ship melting when it was no where close to the cannon and Rose saying it won’t work and the canon being starkiller base tech
 
It’s called inference, the audience is supposed to infer that Finn crashing the shitty, nearly falling apart speeder won’t destroy a thing that was designed to destroy worlds

i didn’t say luke was the main character, i’m saying he was hole role in TLJ is to push rey. he’s flaws don’t make sense otherwise.

if anything rey is way too strong to be anything but a curb stomper, nobody can even touch her unless there near god tier and even then the only one that could gets cut in half cuz “fuck you, subvert expectations”.
 
luke get his ass beat though most the OT even ROTJ had him getting his ass kicked by palpatine so vader could kill palps and day save the day.
 
luke dying not only killed this movie for me but story potencial for future stories teaching rey going on advenchers and righting wrong .

I think it is pretty clear by what he meant(After all if it would work, why wouldn’t Poe just do it himself)
 
Also it is still pretty clear it wouldn’t work as the ship was melting when it was no where close to the cannon, by the time Finn reached it, it would be nothing but mush

Rey only won because she pulled out a lightsaber against Luke  
I don’t know I have a feeling that bringing a lightsaber to a fight would change things(Also she was proven wrong as she led to Kylo Ren’s rising to Supreme Leader, who is probably a worse leader than Snoke)

Oh he said it without saying it I see very deep indeed.
 
And as for the ship breaking up (as I would put it rather than melting) it got pretty close to the laser battering ram and was still largely intact as opposed to the way you try and frame it which makes it sound like Finn himself would have melted when looking at how close he was to it at the point where Rose stopped him.

I thinks it’s pretty clear by the ship melting and the bad state of the ship that even if it didn’t turn to mush(which it probably would considering the cannons were melting badly)

Again it’s still pretty obvious that Finn’s sacrifice would do nothing
 
And let’s assume that it would work, what good would it do ? The First Order still has them massively outgunned and outmanned and they would be wasting a perfect good soldier with inside knowledge of the First Order  
Finn dying would not help the Resistance

Also if he did destroy the laser battering ram it could have exploded so largely it destroys all the walkers around it and maybe even Ren’s ship that just hovering there.  
After all ONE SPARK is all it takes at least that’s the film kept saying.
