Funny thing is, in the manga, the “personal hell” thing still happened even after the card game started up until the end of the Duelist Kingdom arc.

So I’ve heard. Ironically, “Season 0”, the Toei anime adaptation that adapted the early parts, was STILL toned down from the original manga.

I have the feeling that I am completely incompatible with the opinions of the rest of the fandom. All people want is the 20 to canon characters and bottom 8,672,127,482,000,000,000,000,000,000 OCs which somehow doesn’t even include Moonsqueeze who only has one image. How is it we have 8,672,127,482,000,000,000,000,000,000 OCs yet the only popular ones are the ones that aren’t popular? I made some pie charts but I won’t post them now.
 
I guess it’s my fault for joining during the Season 4-5 hiatus…

I think you answered your own question. There are just so many OCs, only a tiny tiny fraction of them could ever be expected to attain the kind of fame of a canon pone.

My problem is more that there are a higher percentage of OCs on the last 75 pages of that search with SFM models than there are OCs on the first page, at least that’s what I’m getting from the fact that we have 666+ OC downloads and yet only about 25-30 of those are of OCs that are on the first page of tags. That’s more my problem when I’m talking about the SFM stuff.
 
EDIT: There are 250 tags to a page, so that’s 10%.
 
There are also 42,571 OCs, of which around 22,000 only have 1 image. Interesting statistics. There’s also a tag called “ooc:blackjack”, which is pretty funny.
 
EDIT3: Also, this is me counting all the tags and not dividing them up into actual types (both in the tag list and SFM Downloads list) so there’s a lot of exaggeration. The 8.672 octillion was a mere exaggeration.

Unfortunately I know even less about Source Filmmaker than I know about Kanji. I wish that you had all the SFM skills that you need to create all the 3D models and SFM that you know needs to exist.
 
Talking about OCs as a seperate thing. I really like a whole lot of OCs, even the unpopular ones. I feel like I’ve been losing my ability to properly convey how much I like certain things, so those artists might not feel as appreciated as they could be.

honestly, i personally feel people need to relax a little bit about so-called “haters” and about so-called “negativity” and the like. how is it any less acceptable, or fine, or appropriate, to discuss what someone disliked about something?
 
it always boils down to how people act and react. honestly i tend to find more negativity in the folks who get anally perforated when someone “hates” on something they like. as things stand right now, saying “starlight glimmer is a mary sue” will have the same emotional impact on some people as murdering a bunny rabbit in front of them.
 
person 1 disliking a thing does nothing to diminish the quality of a thing for persons 2 through 9999 and beyond, it’s okay to not like things (just don’t be a dick about it), it’s okay to defend things (again, just don’t be a dick about it), and opinions are just that: opinions.
 
just, for the love of christ, don’t cry about “freedom of speech” when you do any of it. freedom of speech has to do with government censorship, not “person 1 telling person 2 to stfu” and holds zero weight on this site as it’s hosted out of france and germany, and if it did then it would also protect the right of person 2 to tell you to stfu. seriously, nothing makes someone look dumber than crying about their freedom of speech when a website deletes their comment or something.
