Now it goes to court. And that’s where he is going to lose it, and maybe his job.
Not to burst that bubble, but that should be qualified with a “maybe”. There are a lot of factors that would have to be involved for that, so it’s not going to be a small dunk by any means. Heck, the filing process for taking this to court is itself a Byzantine process that can detrimentally affect anyone who doesn’t file at the appropriate time. Not to mention the courts in these types of cases tend to side more often with the agencies than the people fighting them.
But I suppose the upside is that difficult does not mean impossible. At least two people at the FCC dissented and have said they are going to keep fighting for us. We owe it to them to do the same.
Besides, court is not the only option. A Congressional Review could also overturn the decision. The odds of that aren’t the greatest, admittedly, but with enough pressure… you never know, I guess. The important thing is just to be involved at this point.
