Every time I see some idiot talk about how they only like anime for the writing and go on about how they’d rather have something with great writing and mediocre aesthetics than something with great aesthetics and mediocre writing, I instantly put them down as somebody I don’t want to be around because they’re clearly just people who are breathing air that I could be breathing instead and it wouldn’t go to such waste.
 
I mean, I get it, y’know? If you’re as self-flattering to actually say things like this, then you’re an idiot who’s insecure about your own intellect so you try to look like you’re above such shallow things like caring about visuals - but it’s still a fucking visual medium. If you want everything to only be about the story so you can stroke yourself for how smart and different you are, then shut the fuck up and go read a book so you can focus solely on the story and not have any of those pesky aesthetics get in the way.
 
Liking things primarily for their visuals is a pretty fuckin’ valid praise to have on a medium as historically reliant on aesthetic such as animation. I really fucking hate people who try to act like they’re above such petty nonsense and only care about muh deep stories and muh complex characters and nothing else, as if they couldn’t try to be less of a self-stroking faggot. Ugh.

Real talk though.  
I feel like it’s a kind of “Dark Souls 1 vs. Dark Souls 2” thing with both seasons of Daredevil. Season 2 is good don’t get me wrong but it feels like a bit of a step down in terms of writing quality. Especially in the second half with everything involving Elektra. I think they should have kept everything about The Hand reserved for the inevitable third season and such solely with the Punisher angle.
