Bit off topic from the things I’m seeing but I’d like to get oppinions on a potentially not horrible robot mode for a theoretical Studio Series Movie 1 Skorponok, if anyone’s interested.

I don’t see how that’s off topic.  
I’m more of the opinion that Scorponok doesn’t need a robot mode but if it has to probably legends.

Definitely the best one to come out of the actual toy lines so far for Movie Skorp, poor deluxe got gimmicked to death.
 
Honestly, I feel like he could have one just because it seems off how low effort it is by comparison, but thats probably why we haven’t seen or heard about a SS version of him. Just not much to work with.

But, here it is, my(more then likely) way to over engineered idea.
 
Starting with the claws, they could do what the deluxe did and just leave them as is, but remove the gimmick to actually have strong joints, or they could split the drum around the lower arm into thirds, and having two of those pieces fold out on a double hinge to cover the third, the three claws attached to those plates and a forth folded under them to give him ‘hands’. With a set of hinges to spread the shoulder’s out and seperated the grey of the body from the top of the first drum segment.
 
Inside could have some detailing since the arms where supposed to be engines of some kind from Blackouts alt mode.
 
The scorpion head would fold down like the deluxe as a chestplate while the first drum openes on a hinge for a robot head to fold up with a piece to tab the split shoulders back together.
 
The other two segments would hinge out onto the back and the third would hinge back down to have them sit one in chest two on back.
 
Waist/scorpion body would collapse together to make him a bit more proportionate and get rid of the empty gap, while the legs would be more or less the same as the deluxe,just having the lowest set of scorpion legs fold into the leg to make a slightly more stable heel while the other two can either collapse closer to the leg or lay over each other to get them out of the way.
 
Tail would more or less be the same, though a double hing or a hinge at the body and ball joint at the base to get it back behinde the pelvis would be nice.
 
As for what the robot head would look like I feel like a Beast War’s inspired sculpt would be a good homage.

Y’know I wanted to post my prediction that that Ectotron comic would undoubtedly have to do with Starscream’s Ghost but…

Bit of missed opportunity not have Mr. Stay Puff fighting Devastator but that could still happen in the book.

I was just watching some clips from Transformers: Prime & I just noticed a little something that I don’t know if any of you have seen yet. get to 0:39 of the video with after the traffic lights, you’ll see that Arcee’s wheels aren’t even moving as she is.

tho is a minor blunder, the series was still so epic.

Yeah, they had a few minor errors like that in some of the earlier season 1 episodes but despite that I think it’s probably one of the prettiest looking Transformers series. (Which is why it ultimately didn’t get a fourth season like originally planned. The animation was very expensive.)

Oh gee, I sure hope not. I don’t like IDW’s version of Arcee all too much. Her Prime counterpart is my favorite (but I do like her in the other cartoons as well).

Unpopular opinion: I think Armada is better than Cybertron.

Honestly, I felt a greater emotional impact with Starscream’s death in Armada than with Prime’s in the 1984 cartoon…

Shrugs. That’s how I felt it. Probably because I knew Optimus was going to come back anyway and, having watched Cybertron before, I knew Starscream wasn’t going to come back… at least not the way he was. And I was right! Also, Starscream went out in a huge blaze glory… Ironically I have never had an Armada Starscream toy.
