Yo-kai Watch

So…Anyone hyped for the games coming out? (Also, I’ve been watching the anime lately.)

Don’t know much about YW, came here for research purposes.

Well, It’s a Franchise that’s currently going Toe-To-Toe with Pokemon in Japan. (And it’s currently one of the most successful at it)
 
It’s basically about a kid who gets a watch that allows him to see the normally invisible phantoms known as Yo-kai. The main deal is to make friends with Yo-kai and summon them to do battle with the more malicious ones.

Oh I know about the story, it’s relation to pokemon, and it’s other media ventures like toys and anime, I’m curious about how the fans like it, that’s the best indicator of weither or not I watch or play something; what made the fans, fans.

I believe It’s mostly Kids that like it. I’m not sure how much other people like it. (One of the reasons is allegedly that there aren’t much adult fans unlike Pokemon)

I want to get it since it seems cute and it has a hot Kitsune in it.  
Also it is made by one of my favorite developers.

So what’s the title Yo-kai about? ‘cause I’m thinking about those mythical wind weasels (youkai), but I don’t think that’s what they’re based on

Thanks for the info TB, I’m actually rather interested in this now.

I’m looking at the gameplay. And I’ve noticed that there are no real random encounters. (If you want to fight Yo-kai, You have to look for them using your Yo-kai Watch’s radar)

Now that I’ve seen that Gameplay video. I want it even more than I already did.

Same, Treehouse has sold me on a lot of games like Captain toad and S.t.e.a.m.

The Battle system looks kind of strange, But I guess I could get into it. (You have Six Yo-Kai in a circular formation, You use the touch screen to rotate your party’s positions at any time, The Yo-kai attack automatically, But You can do stuff like use items, Have them target a specific enemy, Or pump them up for a special attack.)

The Anime on the other hand doesn’t really center around fighting. (Our Protagonist is more about using his Yo-Kai’s abilities to resolve the conflict without violence)

Also, Yes. The Anime is as strange as they say.

Been looking up the design, gotta say they’re pretty good.

It’s a Mon series, Yes. But I’d say that It’s more like a G-rated Shin Megami Tensei than Pokemon.
 
It’s about a kid befriending Ghosts and Sprits rather than a kid training monsters.
