DID, YOU, TAKE, TO, HASBRO, AND, THE, SHOWS, CREATORS, Answer the question and stop taking like a f***ing brahma queen and dodging the questions
Am I the only person who sees that Luna was clearly facing towards Chrysalis and away from Sombra during the fight on the previous page as well as on this page?
How in the world are people arguing that Luna was in a ideal position to defend against Sombra when she was clearly focusing all her efforts and attention at Chrysalis?
Am I wrong? Are my eyes broken? Is this a fake image and people are complaining about the real one where they are both facing Sombra because Luna turned around ready to counter him, posted somewhere on some other site?
@ARchy4288
well, what have you done that’s useful, did you take to the creators, did you go to Hasbro and ask that Celestia get more respect, did you tell idw to knock it of, or are you just arguing with the meat head of this fandom about leaving the fandom and not going anywhere
This could have been fun if the whole petrification had been done well - had, for example, Sombra actually blindsided them, or perhaps given Hope some talisman and demanded she use it while the Princesses were distracted fighting, or anything that actually had a lick of narrative depth beyond ‘Hey, how do we deal with Celestia/Luna, and make Sombra seem badass?’
That’s the issue here. Celestia/Luna losing isn’t problematic if you do it well, but there’s nothing at all present, just them showing up and getting immediately taken out. I’d be okay with it if the writing didn’t feel cheap and lazy - this is done clearly for shock impact, and nothing else, and that’s disappointing because I expect more from people working on MLP.
And if they couldn’t give Celestia/Luna the necessary development, then just don’t include them. Had Cadance not sent off a message, they’d never have even known anything was wrong until it was too late to matter, but instead we get Cadance sending a message for the sole purpose of allowing them to be turned to stone.
And yea, that’s not good storytelling. I wish it were better. This could be done right…but it isn’t.

Not necessarily. The relevance of that episode is exactly my point here. But they did it for Luna WHILE they were, indeed waving off Celestia. What I’m saying is: give the character something to do, of course, relevant to what is going on. Luna was doing HER part of fighting the threat, instead of… Fainting and leaving the others to fight the Tantabus… Or something like this.
Also, like Cadance and Twilight fighting the Tatzlwurm (or whatever was that thing’s name). Imagine Cadance gets slapped by a tentacle and falls unconscious while Twilight has to fight on her own. That is what they have the tendency of doing to Celestia. Mostly Celestia.
@ARchy4288
Never even seen you before this thread, but I’m going to try to explain my thoughts on this matter as honestly as possible
I don’t think they hate Celestia. I think they honestly don’t know what to do with her. She’s an awesome character and they just don’t understand how best to use her. She’s rather like Spike in that regard, which is really, really unfortunate.
I don’t think the fandom does either. Most people I’ve asked are neutral or like her. But it’s the internet, so what hate there is is overrepresented.
As for the plushies, I recommend keeping them. Even when I’m depressed, they can always cheer me up. I’m sure you’d miss them if you did throw them away.
About the abrasiveness… yeah, you seem that way, but your favorite character just had her power basically ignored because plotlines. That would hurt anyone. There were so many better ways to handle this–have Sombra lay a trap, send misleading messages so they’d go to Saddle Arabia… having him best them in a simple fight is honestly really weak writing.
I’m not even a Celestia fan, and I feel your pain. They messed up here.
Really though, bro, this fandom is a caring place. Most people on the internet would go “lol cri more” or “gtfo”, but you’re getting honest sympathy.
Hope you don’t leave the fandom, but if you do, here’s one last picture for you.
@cheezedoodle
Well it’s only been done the last umpteen times and I’m tired of seeing it. No disrespect.
It happens so often with the creators that one has to wonder. With them giving better portrayals to villains and background characters with one episode appearances. One has to start believing the creators hate Celestia.
But it’s not like my opinion matters or anything right? :(
@Background Pony #5E93
I already gave an alternative - have Sombra either set a trap or take a potshot the moment they land and caught off guard by Hope instead of allowing the conversation then having them just take the hit.
Or, have them block his spell but attacked from behind, ruining concentration and resulting in that.
If you don’t want to get rid of the enemy, have the enemy be indestructable without a MacGuffin. Celestia and Luna hold them back with the number of forces being the issue and draining.
Set up a reason for them to be in the command chamber over the frontlines.
Have them need their skills elsewhere - such as holding back nightmare forces for Luna so she can’t be on the frontlines.
Split enemy forces and have them go to and hand half of the other forces.
Have them be somewhere too far away to get there in time.
You seem to have made a fundamental flaw in your analysis. You see, people like me don’t like this event because we hate Celestia. Instead, I like this event because I love Celestia. Seeing her brought low magnifies the emotional impact of the scene. It makes me me concerned for her life as well as Luna’s. Sombra shattered the last pony he did this to.
Of course, we know they’ll be safe in the end, but it’s the emotional rollercoaster ride that makes the journey there fun.
@ARchy4288
Please don’t put your plushes, or any other MLP toys/collectibles, in the trash. Even if you don’t want to bother selling them, at least donate them to a local kids’ charity. Trust me, they’ll still love Celestia. (Even more than I do, most likely.)
@Background Pony #5E93
maybe it’s best then. Which is a real shame because I thought this was one fandom where people gave a shit and the creators put effort into making every pony look good.
I was wrong. It’s lazy pandering. Yes I honestly believe she’s hated by all the creators and 98% of he fandom.
I might put up all of my plushies I’ve spent a whole lot of money collecting up for sale. Or I might just throw them in the trash.
I wanted to be here. Yes I’m abrasive. But so is Seth, so is every other “elite” brony I guess. I just don’t have the talent or a website for people to excuse me for it.
I thank you for your regards.
And I only wish things had turned out differently here. Or that I had never found ponies at all.
